Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. We're back to goalie blaming and not holding the defense accountable for letting a player walk right down the middle untouched, shoot, score, still untouched.

I still have reservations about the value of goaltending even at Hank's level, but at least he somewhat justified it by being head and shoulders above other goalies. Igor isn't.
the 3rd goal? Yeah, mainly he was untouched because Igor playing the puck (terribly) put everyone out of position
EDIt - and this loss is not 'on' Igor. We had our chances, we didn't take them.
But once again he certainly didn't really put us in a position to win it either

This was Laviolette with Connor McMichael in Washington. He is incapable of changing opinions on guys midseason.
It's really really weird because he's too dumb to give Cullye more ice but is smart enough to get to work in the morning and not put shoes on his hands.

Lundqvist justified it with his consistency. You knew that almost every single night your goalie was going to be the best goalie on the ice. That over a season, you'd get a goalie who would literally always be a top 5 performer. You could set your watch to him.
Igor is capable of elite runs. He's extremely talented and he is an elite goalie when he's locked in. The issue is he's too erratic, his performance night in and night out is so unpredictable. You could get the elite guy, you could get an AHL level guy. Very prone to soft goals even when he's on. Very prone to goals early and late in periods. There's just so much inconsistency that it's really hard to justify paying so much more for him than other goalies in this league because you're paying these guys for their regular season numbers, you need to get to the playoffs in the first place.
The good news is this hasn't been tried in the past and proven to be a failing strategy, so hopefully this time, since it's obviously the first time anyone has done this, it will work.
He got paid. He doesn't give a shit. Takes after the vets and leadership here. Get rid of the soft core mentally weak players on this team. They won't have enough to fill a roster unless they call up the Wolfpack
I can live with losses like tonight. That was an 100% effort. The team is simply not good.
