Hopefully the Jets. Watching them get caved in for 60 minutes isn't my idea of entertainment. Wins are great, but you want your team to show something, anything, that gives you hope for the playoffs, and that game ain't it.

Are you sure you want to stick with embarrassment? Not sure you know the proper definition. It is a personal negative emotion of shame and/or quilt that is a threat to your self image or self identity. It gets used a lot around here improperly so apologies for calling you on it.

Sorry if people think I'm being negative. I'm not - I'm being real here. I gave props to the only Jets players to show up tonight, and the only reason why they won. Jets found their finish, which is great. I don't enjoy watching them get caved in their own zone for 55 minutes, though.

Terrible game regardless of the final result. Another awful penalty by PLD 200 feet from the Jets net with the Jets up 2-0. When will he be held accountable? This happens almost every other game now. PLD is a true 200 foot player... when it comes to taking penalties.

Atleast Bowness didn't start doing his stupid line shuffles to preserve the lead this time.

Our best players outplayed their best players. Our best players just happen to include Bucky.

Yes, the Rangers played a good game. If you want to play it like that, if it weren't for Hellebuyck, the Rangers would have skated away with this game. Sorry if I'm unimpressed that a team that's top three in the west struggles to measure up to any of the good teams in the east. Remember how the New Jersey Devils played on Saturday, and still managed to beat the Jets yesterday? That's a good team.

No question about it ... the East has the top 5 teams in the league right now ... maybe that changes at TDL.
You have to remember a team like the Leafs or Rangers if they don't win the division will have to play 3 tough series just to get to the Finals.
In the west ... one maybe 2 tough series to get to the finals.
Remember how unfair it was when the 2 best teams in the league had to each each other in the quarter finals in 2017-18?
Jets have the best goalie in the west and their top 6 is near the top too.
Improve the bottom 6 nothing major like Timo (keep your 1st) and get a tough vet D man like a Luke Schenn and Jets have a great shot at making the finals.

The best way to fix depth scoring is to trade for a top six winger to push players down in the lineup.

There are very few players available (that we know of) who are better than the Jets current top 6.
The price to acquire those players could be problematic and in a couple of cases they may have clauses that block us from trading for them.
BUT....

There are several players better than our bottom 6 who could be added for less capital and would still provide some "ooooommmph" in supporting roles. If we can get a bonafide top 6 guy, great, if not get the next best fit(s) and go from there.

I liked our game. Bowness challenged our top players and they showed up. The Jets stuck to their system and gave themselves a chance to win against a stronger opponent. This mentality will take them further than anything else.

I'd like to take everyone's attention and place it back on the fact that a certain little lady made an appearance in the GTD and thus assured us this win. She's the REAL1st star of the game today, followed by helle in a distant 2nd.

Let's not tempt fate by excluding her from any GDT ever again

Hellebuyck really good, the PP scored, PK was good as usual, top guys managed to actually convert the chances they got which they haven't been doing.

Bottom 6 is a big mess. The team is going nowhere without some middle 6 help. Caved in completely. I know we have those on here that think the team isn't good enough and to not waste assets but to me they'd look much better with some extra help there, I think the top 6 is trying to do too much offensively and its dragging them.

I think the best take away from this game is we have a blueprint on a very sustainable and long term strategy. This a very repeatable map to victory.

no....jets won the game by playing some great defensive hockey frustrating NYR. Also most of the shots on Helly were from outside the circle. I believe NYR plan was to pepper him with shots as it was his consecutive start and he might be tired. Wrong.

Simple response, yes Helle played great shut you down but he didn't score the goals needed for the win, as Helle himself says it's a team game win as a team lose as a team and do your part.

Exactly. Some games Helly gets outplayed and we gotta just out-punch the other team. But overall, the correlation between "goals on the board" and "points in the standings" is rock solid, and whether that's Bucky denying much more than average, or us scoring more than average, all the contributions add up.
