Hey, how about the guy who had some lame GDT idea but decided it was a good idea to not come up lousy for a Monday AM meeting, I think I'd like to steal some credit for yielding the spotlight (which we all know I do so adore!) for two points for the good'uns :)

Ok then, thanks for dropping by ..................

Doing "Plane Jane" GDT and darn the consequences (accusations of sexism and misogyny)??
I think it's the height of hypocrisy to show up in a male-dominated sports forum and then complain about sexism and misogyny. If you want to be childish and horny, better to do it anonymously in here than out in the real world. Besides, most of you do sexism far more politely and tastefully than a lot of other segments of society. Plain Jane is the pinnacle of pulchritudinous restraint.

I can't help recalling a very wise English professor who once told me: "When boys are being childish and horny, they're at their most vulnerable."

Pulchritudinous? Good god, girl, did you swallow a thesaurus or were you born that way?

And people complain that lawyers use too many big words.

Sorry, what I meant to say was:

Me female. Me think Plain Jane okay. Post her all you want.

PS: I wasn't born that way, but I was raised that way. The doctor of English that I quoted is my mother.

Really? Obvious to who?

The media in New York (well, at least the Times, Post, and WNBC) all commented on the fact that the Jets outskated the Rangers and had "more speed despite playing the night before".

Local media regularly has no idea what they are talking about and often can't be taken seriously. Look at how "seriously" Sawyer is taken on these boards for example.

Perfetti gets hit a lot. I fear he will get injured at some point.

Petan never put himself in a position to get hit and never got points cause of it.
Most good players spend alot of time injured. Part of the reason I favor a shortened season.

Checked in on the Rangers postgame thread. I was expecting a lot more snark on the goalie win. It was mainly Helle played great and anger that their goalie didn’t do the same. The thread has mainly shifted to talking about pizza joints in NY. Not too shabby.
Hockey isn't a big deal in NY, regardless of what they say.

A win that was badly needed - for the standings of course but also for a much needed boost to team psychology.

But the win notwithstanding, this game served to reinforce the notion that some serious work must be done to get improved performance from the 3rd and 4th lines if we are to truly be competitive going forward. But the difficult initial step for Chevy to take is to accept that he firstly needs to secure a 3rd line C who plays a balanced 200 foot game to essentially bump Lowry to the 4th line, and in doing so, create two lines with somewhat differing strengths that can be played more or less minutes as the game situation dictates. If Chevy has come to grips with such thinking, he should be in the market for a 2way C, and a RW that plays a style complementary to such C, NOW.

Great point! We always hear how many hits are made & by whom. A quick glance at league leaders for hits has 14 of the top 15 playing on teams outside the wildcard line.

But where are the stats on who took the hits?

With puck possession a key factor in wins and losses, it stands to reason its better to have possession of the puck & take a hit than to be chasing play and making them.

Yeah, we got caved in pretty badly last night.

I’m happy we got the win. Thank the Lord for Hellebuyck. Hopefully this W is enough to get them to play better because you can’t normally expect to get outshot 50-20 and win.

We've got little left to fight about at this point.

We're pretty much locked into a first round matchup where we get 7 home games (because Devils). We've made the TDL moves. That was the first game in a month where we didn't get at least a point.

Plus: game recognizes game, and damnit, we know goaltending when we see it. We know we got goalied. No sense being upset about it - we did it to teams all frigging year last year,

The Jets were outplayed last night for sure.

I also find that some posters also often have no idea what they're talking about, when proclaiming this team isn't worth spending assets on after losses to Columbus and NJ, both games that the Jets were the better team in if you follow the underlying stats. They also, prior to that, played probably their best game (or close to it) of the season against Seattle on the 14th.

Hey that's a great attitude, thank-you. I think women are works of art, as long as you aren't being a creep about it i think admiring women is good. And as you can see i like alot of humor, i love to laugh. No bad intentions only trying to get a win and look we won .
