Yeah we definitely speed and a semblance of talent in the bottom-6. We lost a lot. Losing Fedotenko hurt us a lot more than we thought and I hate to say this, but John Mitchell would almost be welcome here in the bottom-6 on the 4th line. We had a good 4th liner there.

I dont.

I hope you enjoy believing this guy is a better option.

The guy hasn't even stepped on the ice in an NYR sweater and we're already complaining about his spot in the lineup? This board is at an all time low.

Let's just shut the whole thing down except for one thread where everyone can complain incessantly about every single facet of the team.

I'm excited to see what the kid can do. He should bring some speed and tenacity to the bottom 6, both of which have been lacking up and down the entire lineup so far.

He had a good game last night in the AHL, hustlin and bustling, good along the boards, good set of hands and what seems to be quite some hockey IQ... lets see how that translates with Halpern and Asham on the 4th line... he'd be better off on the 3rd really.

I agree. But on the bright side, it's easier to produce and/or obtain bottom 6 guys.

at this point i hope they put him on the powerplay... on the sharks he always went to the net and even got some powerplay time.. with the powerplay being so bad, it cant hurt.. its better than watching Boyle on the powerplay

I've always believed that a 4th line should be an energy line: one that can change the tempo of a game with effort and hustle. Their skill level doesn't necessarily have to be that great, though it certainly helps, but providing a spark is necessary. Some teams like to use an enforcer on the 4th line to go out and start a fight hoping to provide that spark. But that only works if your guy wins. Fighting by 4th liners has hurt us this year. Hopefully BF, if he doesn't end up with third line minutes, can provide some of that hustle.

Exactly what I think about him being in the lineup. If he does seem to be a spark plug, I really hope the Arnott signing doesn't push him out of the lineup.

I was in Ferriero's class at BC, so I'm thrilled to see him on the Rangers. Good IQ, quick and accurate shot. And for what it's worth, he was teammates with Boyle for 3 years at BC, so hopefully there is some chemistry there. He will put in a few goals for the third or fourth line.

I just can't wait until they roll out the all-BC line of Kreider-Boyle-Ferriero.

Liking Ferrerio on the third line with Boyle and Hags.

Could see him sticking here, adds some much needed speed and skill to the bottom-6.
