Very pumped to see Bedards progression this season. I think it’s easy to forget how special his rookie season was. Players tend to improve exponentially around this age so he might step in and be a top 20 forward this year
Quite honestly, in my very humble opinion, and I mean that as I say that I am a horrible piece of shit disappointment in my parents and my own eyes which is much more important that I think he is extremely talented and will do amazing shit throughout a very long and successful career that I might die before I see the end of. Id bet the odds it happening very well for him and I’d like to see it but. I think he’s going to be equal to Crosby as least award wise.

I’m really not doing that well tbh. I appreciate you asking, it’s actually made me feel nice that you did. I think I will be okay again eventually and I won’t hesitate to seek help if things get any worse. Dealing with so much loss lately and I don’t really hold on to much.
Hey pal if you need to talk about something you can PM just about any of us. Hang in there

So nice to see the HF Hawk community rallying around a fellow member!
These are tough times .. if we liken what's afoot to the tarot it would most likely be the Tower card.
A time of radical change and uncomfortable ( to put it mildly ) experiences but the ultimate outcome will lead to higher ground. :)

Huge main board discussion on this guy, same as always, lots of hyperbole on both sides. What do we think of him so far in these 70ish games we've seen from Bedard? Some seem to think he's going to finish somewhere between Crosby and Patrick Kane which would be incredible obviously. I'm not sure I see that effectiveness from him just yet but he's still very young and his body has to mature.

Bedard is weirdly un-explosive for his build, like most forwards around 5’9-5’10 in the NHL play with lots of pace and are quite explosive like Nazar, especially with legs like his you would think his first couple of steps would be a strength of his

And yet he's definitely above average speed and acceleration wise, so it feels weird to feel disappointed in that aspect of his game.

Bedard had speed burst of almost 23 mph last year so he is not slow. Its more about changing speeds to give d men trouble.
I'm not saying he's slow relative to the league. I do think he's borderline slow for a small guy.

I'm inclined to believe that the ultra talented Bedard has not needed to play the game at top speed in his amateur career. I'm always amazed to see players in control at top speeds. McDavid may be the best ever and Denis Savard was no slouch either. I imagine Bedard will adapt to play a faster game as he matures (and when he has linemates he doesn't have to slow down for).

What is going on around here? Bedard has been the best player every night, constantly giving opposing teams fits trying to stop him. Setting up all kinds of grade A chances.

His team is letting him down over and over. He’s the absolute last problem here, he’s played incredibly well.
belfour 30....new name, same old song and dance.

I do feel like Bedard's acceleration is inconsistent. Sometimes he's shot out of a cannon and sometimes he looks stuck in mud.
