As I've said before, I'll say it again....

As long as the current ownership remains in place, just assume that things will go badly for the Bears, even if things are seemingly promising (like drafting a highly touted QB to an organization with zero positive QB developmental history to speak of).

We stink.

I legitimately want Warren to fire literally everybody on the coaching staff and start from scratch. What's the worst that could happen? The worst team in the league might get worse? Oh no, the team a few games away from losing a full 17 straight games might be more awful with that much turnover.

The Bears are a terrible organization. George trusts the wrong people. Yada Yada. I agree. We all agree.

President is different this time around. Which is the first time you could say that in a LONG time. Ownership is bad when they don't invest money. You can't say that they haven't done that.

Im not defending them. They are also shit owners because they have trusted the wrong people to build their football organization. But they aren't owners that you can't win with in terms of financial support.

Bears were not in a position to draft a QB and Fields had just played some decent football down the stretch the previous season. Its a non-issue. If we have the opportunity this year and pass over Caleb Williams then yeah, I expect you to be upset.
Not to mention they may have taken Young? Or if they had taken Stroud the coaching staff would probably be trying to turn him into a pocket passer like they were doing to Fields.

This team looked absolutely terrible against the Packers and Bucs who are simply not good. Played bad against other bad teams. Those bad teams have beat other bad teams.

The Bucs have wins over the Bears, Vikings and Saints. All of those teams are not good. Packers have beat the Saints and the Bears. Both bad teams. Lost to Atlanta (another bad team)

I think the Bears will win three games this year. Home vs LV, Home vs Panthers, Home vs Cardinals
Cardinals are sneaky good

I hope Warren can turn things around organizationally, but the ultimate bosses are still rotten. Even if Warren ends up being a phenomenal president, there'll always be a question on how much the McCasky's are hamstringing him.

Exactly this. Why does it matter. Oh no, the worst team in the NFL might be even more terrible....
Isn't it the opposite that's a concern? that they improve.

But why fire anyone if you're okay with tanking. To say, concesenquences... but if you're promoting John Hoke or whoever, that makes no sense. What scenario is where anyone deserves to be the new OC on staff or to be interm HC?

Because it just doesn't matter, and I'm tired of seeing the Bears have zero accountability for their pathetic coaching staff. The decisions Sunday would have gotten them fired in just about any other organization.

The Bears have three more extremely weak opponents coming up versus the Commanders, Vikings, and Raiders consecutively. Even a bad team could potentially go 3-0 against them.

But man, if we only go 1-2 or winless in that stretch, woof...

The Commanders are 2-2 with a loss in OT to @ Eagles this past week. I would not say they are an "extremely weak opponent."

Fair enough, I guess my brain defaults to Washington = bad out of habit.

Still two winnable games for even a bad team in the next three.

Realistically, the Bears' best chances for wins were the first few weeks, and Carolina. They're going to get embarrassed all season long.

I could see them taking one vs Vikes

Vikes have tendency to play down to competition at times.

Games I would say Bears have chance in

vs Raiders (McDaniels is shitshow as coach)
vs Panthers
vs or @ Vikes (Could see split)
vs Cardinals (Cards are competing in games but lack talent)
vs Falcons (Rattler is pretty bad)

The issue with ownership has been their inability to pick a GM. That's their only flaw (in relation to the football side of things). They give their GM basically total control over the football-side, which is exactly what you want from an owner.

With Warren now in the driver's seat of picking a GM, what has happened in the past is more or less moot. Warren's ability to pick a GM is what will decide the fate of this team going forward, not George's incompetence.

Agree with that. It's not like the White Sox, where it feels like their front office has to try to do their job with one hand tied behind their back due to ownership.

Eberflus will be gone.

These next 13 games are about Justin Fields. Perhaps the light turned on FINALLY in the passing game BUT he still has a long way to go. Two things to look for:

1. He still needs to speed up his internal clock. It's getting better, but still needs improvement.

2. NFL open is not college open. I have a feeling this coaching staff really screwed him up by asking him to be way too conservative. He needs to throw receivers open and throw into tighter windows. He needs to rip it and trust his arm strength and accuracy. While still not perfect, Fields has quickened his release.

That's the only thing that matters in the next 13 games.

Yeah pretty much exactly how I feel.

Helluva game for Devon Witherspoon. Seven tackles, two tackles for a loss, two sacks, a pass deflection, and an interception/97 yard pick six.
