This might be a meatball take, but the Bears ownership group need to target Harbaugh as the next head coach. Do whatever you need to do to get him out of UM. We need a man who can build a program and a culture. Yes, he will want full control of the roster and if Poles wants to save his job, he needs to give it to him. Bringing in another coordinator won’t cut it. He will have a better chance to lose his job if he was to bring in another “guy” and not succeed than if he brings in Harbaugh. Make the bold move. I guarantee you this, they don’t lose today’s game with a real HC at the front.

Poles needs to find 3 old coaches. One to HC the others as coordinators. Sign em for the rest of the year. Throw out the trash there now and start over in the off-season.
You’re not going to find real coaching talent during the season but these guys need to be removed NOW!

To me it's not a "meatball take". It sounds like the Bears could have had him before they decided on Matt EberLOL. Rumor was the sticking point was that Harbaugh wanted a stake in ownership and the Bears said, "nah, we're good." So, it sounds like Harbaugh can be had, the question is....do the Bears have the balls to go get him? I'm on board Team Harbaugh (and poaching Fangio from Miami) this offseason.

I mean serious who hires a first time HC in Eberlol and allows him to hire a first time OC in Getsy, all the while having a first time GM in Poles?

Has Matt Eberlol lost the lockerroom? My answer is YES. Poles/Warren may not like it but there needs to be two high profile firings (EberLOL and Getsy) on Friday.

As for Claypool, he is done in Chicago. If you are inactive and don't even show up to Soldier Field and you were not giving permission to stay home....you're done. Trade or release Claypool, either way get this MFer bum off the Bears.

Just give me Lincoln Riley if they get the #1 pick and take Caleb. Riley may not be a defensive coach but I'll trust him over anybody developing Caleb and the other offensive players.

Caleb Williams is going to see the Bears picking #1, and go back to school. That's my hot take.

I believe if the Bears hire Riley as their head coach, Caleb will declare. That might be the only way. Or maybe a coach who is well respected around football for developing well like a Harbaugh. That's literally it.

You fire Eberflus then you literally fire your HC and DC since he's doing both right now. Who on the staff will be able to call the defense?

First of all - I think Caleb comes here if the Bears land #1. He probably is more concerned about not going to places like Arizona. Flus will be long gone if the Bears are picking #1.

That said - I hate to be pessimistic, but they still have a soft-ass schedule ahead of them. They got Washington on Thursday - who in their last 3 games have given up 33, 37 and 34 points. I hope you all are right. I'm just not as confident in a top 2 or 3 pick.

Flus is probably safe right now due to the short week. If they somehow have yet another emBEARassing game on Thursday, after that game could be the perfect time to give him the axe. You have a few extra days before the Viking game in week 6, which could be helpful for an interim coach.

I also think Harbaugh as a potential next coach is a solid idea. He has succeeded with young QB's in the past, which they'll need whether it's Fields, Bagent or someone from the next draft.

Nothing is easy when it comes to the Bears this season. There are only three games left on the schedule in which the Bears won't be dogs and that is against Carolina/ATL and Arizona, all at home. Those games will be pick 'em at best.

Maybe the Bears will squeak out three wins, but with this current staff....that is asking for a lot.

I agree. Lose that game, and I expect an announcement on Friday morning.

Colin Kaepernick had his best year as a player under Harbaugh (with Greg Roman as OC). Harbaugh knows how to work with the Kaepernick/Fields athlethic QB mold.

Nobody on staff is qualify to call defense, which means you have to go outside the organization.

Beyond the 3 games you mentioned, they also have a bad Raiders team at home, plus 2 Viking games.

They will probably be dogs in all of them, but many are winnable.

Disclaimer - I was also pessimistic about going to #1 last year, and I was wrong.

Not winnable with the current Bears staff. I will NEVER understand stand why a first time HC would hire a first time OC.

We just scored 28 on a team that gave up 70, so we're only gonna be able to put up like 14 against the Commanders.

Also, having a weak schedule is advantageous for tie-breaker purposes. 4 or less wins probably gets you the #1 pick, especially if your schedule is trash.

I get your pessimism, but statisicatlly, given we have both 0-4 picks right now, we're in the drivers seat for the #1 overall pick.

I want the coaching staff jettisoned after they lose Thursday just out of principle. You have to hold them accountable for this garbage. Hire some old scrap heap coaches to finish the season out. It doesn't matter anyways. This is another lost season, and you can't possibly bring Eberflus and Getsy back when you will likely have the top two picks in the draft, and ANOTHER new QB.

Assuming the Bears pick #1, and assuming they draft Caleb Williams(and he declares), what do you think you get for Fields? Or do you hold onto him for another season? I absolutely think he's going to have value, and I would not doubt him having success with a good coaching staff. This organization has been a dumpster fire his entire time here, and the offense is still garbage around him.(they still can't block)

This team looked absolutely terrible against the Packers and Bucs who are simply not good. Played bad against other bad teams. Those bad teams have beat other bad teams.

The Bucs have wins over the Bears, Vikings and Saints. All of those teams are not good. Packers have beat the Saints and the Bears. Both bad teams. Lost to Atlanta (another bad team)

I think the Bears will win three games this year. Home vs LV, Home vs Panthers, Home vs Cardinals

As I've said before, I'll say it again....

As long as the current ownership remains in place, just assume that things will go badly for the Bears, even if things are seemingly promising (like drafting a highly touted QB to an organization with zero positive QB developmental history to speak of).

We stink.

I legitimately want Warren to fire literally everybody on the coaching staff and start from scratch. What's the worst that could happen? The worst team in the league might get worse? Oh no, the team a few games away from losing a full 17 straight games might be more awful with that much turnover.
