This was what would of felt like the perfect loss for rebuilding, tanking, and seeing the offense growing... but doing it against Denver who was so brutal inspires like no future hope there for Fields

As a Vikings fan im legit scared of what the Bears could look like next year. Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr could actually happen.

As with each game this season - there's plenty of blame to go around. The only difference between this loss and the 3 previous losses was Field played well today. The fumble was on him - I guess - although they were on him immediately. The receiver (Kmet?) stopped his route on the interception so if Fields is expected to throw it were the receiver is going to be - the receiver can't pull up and let the DB snag it.

Oh, and the smartest guy in the room head coach going for it on 4th and 1 instead of kicking the go-ahead field goal - yeah - total brainiac move.

0-4 and tied with Carolina for draft positions #1 and #2 - I like it. Keep it going boys. Don't go getting froggy and winning a game or two.

This is the game that should get you fired. We know the defense sucks, but how do you take everything away from your offense that worked in the first half. That 4th and 2 early in the game told me all I need to know about “Flus”. He’s trash. Garbage coaching.

It's some of the most gutless, inept coaching I have ever witnessed. I called it at the end of the first half when they were mailing it in, happy to be up 14... Cowards. No killer instinct. Conservative garbage play calling. And it killed them

Harrison Jr. would be great, but I have to think they're eyeing Fashanu or Alt as well. With Wright looking good so far, having a rookie QB come in with a strong LT, RT pair could outweigh MHJ's potential.

And Fashanu is for some reason getting a bit overlooked so far. He would have been the first OT off the board if he had entered the draft last season.

Unfortunately, I don't think even with 2 top picks, the Bears will get a reinforcement on the DL early in the draft next year either. Maybe in the second round, but I would personally prefer an interior lineman there.
Gonna disagree with you here. First, it seems to be the consensus that MHJ is a generational WR prospect. Fashanu looks to be an elite LT prospect, but not generational (at least from what I've read).

Second, while it's clear that LT has a major impact on the offense, an elite WR can single-handedly take over games in a way that a LT can't. This goes back to the Sewell or Chase debate. Both are amazing at their positions, but I kinda doubt the Bengels have regretted their choice at any time.

As for the DL, if we're in a position to draft Williams I think you basically put all your resources into the offense. Hire an offensive head coach, spend a ton on the line, etc. I think it'll be better to surround Williams with competence even if they're losing games because of a shit defense than try and have a balanced roster that can win games next year. Also, it's generally easier to buy (FA acquisitions) a competent defense than a competent offense (DL is basically the only position group that's hard to build through FA for a defense, while quality OT, WR, TE, and QB are difficult to find in FA for an offense).

Take the borderline-generational QB and give him the generational WR to work with, figure out the rest later AKA the Bengels Method.
