Spellman was good player before his mental health became issue.

Problem was trading away Trace Armstrong (Idiotic) and having no viable replacement which meant Spellman was only threat to rush passer from edge as Albert Fontenot f***ing sucked.

I didn't understand what Bears and Wanny saw in Fontenot. He couldn't rush the passer or stop the run. He was absolutely worthless.

And Bryan Cox was complete bust as FA. He did more bitching and moaning than anything else during his time in Chicago

Bears D has Spellman, Flanigan, Carrier and Woolford and not much else worth a damn in mid 90's
Spellman sucked. He was both a physical freak and a bad football player.
I get Alonzo Spellman flashbacks with Carter.
If you’re talking about what’s going on upstairs, then I have no idea. On the field, Carter is immensely more talented.

NFL Draft begins tonight!

The Sapp non-selection is always my favorite.

They really need a sequel because there have been more blunders by Jets over last 30+ years

As a Bears fan I naturally sympathize and feel a common bond with Jet fans when it comes to watching management make many mistakes

If Tyree Wilson is there I think that is guy Bears go with

If he isn't there, I think they trade down to try and grab another 2nd to try and make up slightly for the mistake of giving away 2nd for Claypool

We have to go ol. Protecting Fields has to be #1 priority.

Exception is Carter who I would take if he’s there.

Well Jalen Carter is there at #9 if the Bears want him. Also Will Levis is as well, if a QB needy team wants to move up.

Bears traded down one spot with Philly

I know we only moved down one, but a mid-round pick next year seems like a small get.
Not really. Could easily be used to upgrade our OL depth which is something you always have to look at when building a team.

The fact that we passed on Carter says there is something there with red flags that scared away a lot of teams.

Not a sexy pick but OL is a huge need and this guy is massive and shut down Will Anderson.

Also, not sure I get the complaints about the trade down compensation? They clearly didn't want Carter so would've taken Wright there anyway, so they just add a 4th for free.

Also Lions picked a RB??? lol They just gave Monty a bag

Love the pick. 2023 is about deciding whether Fields is the real deal and securing the OT spot and #1 WR were the two most important things to get done. Check 1 and Check 2.

You can quibble about the positional value but nowhere have I read that this guy isn't likely to be a plug and play great RT.

RT was our biggest need on the line and it was filled.

Hope Poles hammers DL picks now.
