Broncos just beat the Chargers, bumping the Colts up to #4 in the draft.
Optimally, the Texans desperately want Bryce Young, and the Colts desperately want Young and CJ Stroud. I think it's unlikely that the Texans give up their second first rounder, but they'd probably be willing to part with at least the higher of their 2nd rounders to ensure they get their guy. That’s my hope for our trade down partner.
They keep the starting times fluid for this very reason. It's wild they weren't playing at the same time as Seattle.Lions eliminated by the Seahawks win, but now the Seahawks need those same Lions to beat Green Bay tog team into the playoffs.
Not having all the games start at the same time on the final day of the season remains dumb.
Seattle has the #5 pick now. They fell back in recent weeks. Not likely to get Will Anderson at #5 - but maybe.I'm hoping that Seattle sees one of the top QBs as way better than any of the others and decides to move the #3 pick and more to the Bears to get their guy. If the cards fall right, Bears still get Will Anderson Jr. plus other picks to speed up this rebuild on both sides of the ball.
I wouldn't do that trade. Devante is great, but he's on the wrong side of 30. Thats too much draft capital to give up for him.I think what the Bears do in the draft will in large part be determined on what they're able to do in free agency. If they're able to sign a stud DT (Payne/Hargrave) an stud Edge Rusher and a stud O-lineman - then I think that would open up the possibilities for what to do in the draft.
If the Raiders are wanting to get a QB and willing to trade up with the Hawks - then I would trade the #1 pick and the late 2nd rounder (from Baltimore - #57?) for the Raiders 1st rounder (#7), 2nd rounder (#38) AND Davante Adams. Then use the #7 pick and #38 pick to draft the best d-lineman and/or o-lineman.
Damn, there goes that dream scenario then.Seattle has the #5 pick now. They fell back in recent weeks. Not likely to get Will Anderson at #5 - but maybe.

Yeah. Devante is amazing. I just worry about giving all that up for a guy heading in to his 10th season. It's dangerous. It might work out. Or it might blow up on you as Russell Wilson is on Denver.Damn, there goes that dream scenario then.
I'm also not keen on that trade for Devante Adams. Would rather add more young guys as we need skill at pretty much all positions now.

Taking Stroud/Young is a step back for the Bears, imo. You would be having to restart the development process. It's a risk but go all in on developing Fields.Gonna come down to if Poles really likes Young/Stroud over Fields or not. But ima say 99% chance Bears are trade either the pick or Fields come the draft.
Josh is under pressure to win in 2023. I don’t think he’s going to bet his HC future on a rookie QB. So don’t see LV moving up for a QB.I think what the Bears do in the draft will in large part be determined on what they're able to do in free agency. Agreed. Lovie went for the win and I think the Vikings will lose in the first round. The Bears should take Will Anderson.Bears got the #1 pick AND the Packers are eliminated from the playoffs?! What a glorious day.
Teams will be worried that a team below them will trade with the Bears and select the QB they wanted.Bears will have to stay at 1. No team is worried that they will select 1 of the 2 QBs.
Like space umpire said, teams are not worried about the Bears taking a QB, they are worried about other QB needy teams will jump them.Bears will have to stay at 1. No team is worried that they will select 1 of the 2 QBs.
It's not about the Bears, it's about whichever QB needy team jumping Houston to get their guy.Bears will have to stay at 1. No team is worried that they will select 1 of the 2 QBs.
