Pointless trade

No reason to move him at this point for such low pick and eating his $ and team is clearly not going to be bad enough for top pick in this draft

Should have just kept him and hoped the team would find way to keep in NFC North Race

A 4th rounder is a solid return? Lol.

It's a pointless trade, at that value.
For a vet you want off the team anyway, yes.

How's it pointless? Starters are 4th round picks right away on plenty of teams. The starting tackle was a 5th round rookie. If the Eagles stay great its like a high 5th, good. This isn't an NHL 4th round pick that has a less than 10% chance of making the league.

It also frees up space of a vet you don't want going forward

Bears were going to cut him rather than bring him back at over $13 mill base salary next season. And they still need to eat close to $8.5 mill from his remaining SB and restructure he had for the next 2 years.

This is typical of TDL deals in the nfl.

Seems about right. I was thinking maybe they could get a conditional 3rd

Right

Right
He’s be a rotational DL for Philly. At best he gets 50% of the snaps for the remainder of the season barring injury in the DL. More added depth than a starter. Not likely to have been able to make it a conditional pick based on his snap count.

Do you know anything about NFL trades?
Unless you're trading a perrenial pro bowler in their prime, you don't get a 1st or 2nd round pick. The player has to play at a premium position to return a 1st.

A 4th is absolutely a solid return for Quinn.

If they traded Roquan, a 2nd would be the most you could expect, as he doesn't play a premium position.

If trade Monty for a 3rd or conditional could be 2nd or 3rd like value pick. That might be a solid move to do. Unless you get him to sign a 3year deal. I think 7 years is all you can expect of a starting rb. Don't sign one for longer.

I'd say a 5th and IMO it's not worth it.
Keep Monty and make a decision in the spring.

I think they should consider trading Roquan for the aforementioned 2nd rounder.

Why? Despite rebuilding, you still need quality players when you're ready to compete, and it doesn't look like they're nearly as far off as people originally thought. With like 100m in cap space next year, they can be right back in the thick of things as early as next year.

They have a great RB tandem, a QB that is progressing well with legitimate coaching, and a generally good looking secondary that also continually improves each game.

They need a couple legitimate receiving options for Fields, and then work on the DL and OL.

Seeing as I can barely pay attention to the Bears, let alone the rest of the terrible NFL product? No. Not really. If a 4th is a solid return, I stand corrected. It doesn't seem like the Bears turn many 4th rounders into NFL players, but maybe that's just my perspective being skewed by being a fan of a terrible organization.

I don't like tying up that much cap in a non-premium position. Also I don't think Roquan has played that well this year and he looks to have lost a step.
