Why is that a bad comp?

The main difference is that teams weren't prepared for running QBs back in 2002 like they are now. That's why Vick was able to break off 70 yd runs. Fields would be able to do that too if you took him back in time 20 years.

Fields also has a bigger frame, but stylistically I think it's a good comp.

The game has changed a lot in the last 20 years. Higher standards for QB play.
Look at the stats. It's a good comp.

There's no way in hell Vick would get anywhere close to MVP votes for his 2002 season today.

You have to remember that Vick was the first of the super athletic QBs. It was a new thing. They were seeing things that had never been done before.

Fields is on pace to have more rushing yards over 16 games than Vick did in 2002.

I'm not making any judgment, I was making a comparison that the stats back up.
I think he could be a lot better as a passer than Vick was. There's just a lot of similarities early on in his career.
