I’m not even sure what to do if you’re Flus. Didn’t they take away play calling from Getsy before firing him last year?

I don’t think you can do that before firing Waldron with how bad he’s been. I think he has to be straight fired. Even then he’s pretty much writing up his own firing by having to fire two OCs in back to back years.

While I want him fired for obvious reasons I’m not optimistic about who takes over… But literally anything else worth trying at this point.

Sounded like Flus said something would happen in the next 24-48 hrs.... but the phone connection wasn't real good
What can even realistically happen at this point? Thomas Brown becomes the play caller? That could conceivably work, but the Panthers were woeful offensively with him as the play caller last year. I think they got shut out as many times as they scored more than 15 points.
That’s good. Let’s drag it out (for no reason) so the whole week is a mess and we lose again.
I don't think there is any offensive play caller in the league who out schemes Eberflus as easily as LaFleur does. The Packers coming off a bye would be a very tough opponent even if the team weren't in a tail spin right now. I welcome it. Just probably not enough to actually sit down and watch the game.

Play calling is definitely part of the issue. It’s not the only issue, but it’s an issue.

Maybe a new play caller will actually call a slant, or any other quick developing route. Or maybe a call that is designed to target your stud TE as the first option.

The rare times they actually do those things they almost always work.

Playcalling. Caleb being not good. Wr like DJ and Allen quitting. Drops. A horrid oline with zero starters. A rb that always makes the wrong cut. It’s just all horrible

Prediction: Eberflus is going to show up with a mid 00s goth haircut and some new face piercings on Sunday to see if changing his style will trick the media into believing in him again.

Flus presser just finished. Seems pretty evident that Waldron will have a reduced role (released/fired??) going forward. Too early to be definitive, but that was the tone that I got.

I don’t know about you fellas, but I’d rather watch Jim Miller or Rex Grossman. Yes, I know, I also just threw up in my mouth a little.

I was always a White Sox, Bears and Bulls fan, but the NBA today is not even close to the defensive acumen of the MJ-led ‘90s. MJ is the only reason I used to watch NBA.

Anyway, the Bears really need to move on from Waldron, but the problem with that is that then Caleb would have to, at least partially, learn a new system a la Fields over and over.

Fricking Erik Kramer was better than this.

Okay, rant over.

“We’re going to build from the trenches.”

“We’re going to take the North and never give it back.”

"Jim Harbaugh is the coach of Michigan."

"'This is the deepest room I've ever been a part of.' So we have more versatility, more depth. Shoot, we have 10 guys, so I feel comfortable. Obviously, you want your starting five to be healthy and ready to go, but I feel more confident in the depth of our offensive line than I ever have before."

""We're in a much better place than we were last year," Poles said. "I feel we've been able to move the needle and be in a position to go after our goals and to have more aggressive goals in terms of being a championship organization... Again it's hard until you start playing—just being realistic, man, I mean on paper, 80%, 75%," (said in Aug 2023)
