True but there have been many plays where even then there was a guy open right in front of him 5-7 yarder, he can't find them especially if they are to his left. Swift was open at least 3-4 times with a single defender on him and Caleb never looked or never saw him.

QB worries me at this point. (along with 27 other things!)

The 3 other rookie qbs that are starting are all playing much better than Caleb

Moose is calling out Poles badly for his failure to address the o line

Remember folks, Waldron is top 10 in OC salary from what has been said he's 6th. He was an experienced oc who wasn't even fired, just hc changed around him.

But he's been awful. But it's not cheapness at fault

Let's be clear here. Poles didn't fail to address the O-line. I'd be much less worried if he ignored the O-line after last season.

Every. Single. Thing. He did to address the O-line failed. Keeping the same O-line coach, spending a 4th rounder on a backup center with an arthritic shoulder, bringing in and sticking with Nate Davis, bringing in Shelton.

If you want to throw Amegadjie in there because he was injured through training camp, feel free to. It's a pick I would have been fine with if the rest of the line had worked at all. Jenkins is almost certainly walking at the end of this season, leaving them with 0 viable interior O-linemen.

We lucked into a 1oa and are ruining him. Our coaching is always the worst, our drafting is subpar, the playcalling is always predictable and boring, we have one of the worst owners in football, we haven’t had a good quarterback in any of our lifetimes, the stadium is ridiculous, we’ve won one NFL championship in the past 80 years. Nothing good is ever going to happen to the Chicago Bears organization, and we should just accept it.

Until proven otherwise, I assume Ben Johnson will be the team's next HC. They'll throw money at him, hoping he can get the team in working order to spark up some interest in a new stadium.

And if you put any of them on the Bears, they would not be.

Can’t argue with that. But it also doesn’t change when Caleb is making a lot of bad decisions and throws.

Yep. The whole ‘McCaskeys are cheap thing’ is a bit off. They paid Fox. They paid Nagy. They paid Wannstedt when he was the guy every team wanted.

They aren’t cheap. They are just terrible and continue to make bad hires.

Yep. That whole ‘monsters of the Midway’ and ‘Bear football’ is a dumb myth. At the end of the day - in the modern era (the last 60 years) the Bears outside of one season and a couple of other seasons, the Bears have been the poster child for a horrible franchise. Everyone makes fun of the Jets, Lions, Browns. The reality is that the Bears have been the poster child for a losing NFL franchise for 90% of the last 50+ years.

Nothing will change until the old lady finally croaks, and even then I doubt anything changes with whichever family members inherit the team.

I can’t imagine them selling it either since they have nothing else business wise to stay busy with.

Hey, that's an improvement over "we're changing nothing and are looking inward."

I wonder what changed? Was it how they, predictably, looked just as bad again after changing nothing?

I do appreciate that someone clearly told him in no uncertain terms that trying to weasel out of responsibility after the Hail Mary wasn't acceptable. That being said, jettison him to the moon and let Hightower take over HC duties for the rest of the season.

Him saying he is “taking responsibility” means nothing until someone is fired.
Oh, he's absolutely not actually taking responsibility. It's shallow lip service. I just think it's funny how he has been claiming that everything from defensive breakdowns to offensive playcalls since he proudly proclaimed "the buck stops... somewhere over there" after the Hail Mary.

Should someone take Williams aside, tell him he's got concussion like symptoms, and strongly suggest he take about 8 weeks to get better? If this is a preview of what's happening to him the rest of the season I'm not sure I see the point in him getting mauled for two months.

That means nothing. ‘Taking responsibility’ means you fire people or you get fired.

So does Williams suck or are the Bears failing him?

Mostly the Bears failing him, but he gets some blame too and has missed some easy throws he could have built off of to get out of this hole.

His confidence is probably the lowest of his entire life when it comes to playing football at any level.

Hard to say. The past few weeks, the former NFL QBs who are looking at tape and reporting back on it has basically said that he's certainly not without blame, but the offensive game calling is just baffling, and the O-line is trash.

If I were a betting man, I would say that they will say the same thing this week. But we'll see. I can't see anything on the broadcast during the game.

There will be screenshot warriors on Twitter and All-22 warriors on YouTube with no experience playing football pointing out open receivers, as there are every week. Those can be safely discounted.

My breaking point with Fields came when the former QBs started pointing out times where he started doing things like looking at open receivers during the read multiple times per game and just refused to throw the ball, didn't process through his reads, or bailed from good pockets instead of waiting for the receivers to finish their routes. I haven't seen that from Williams. Until I do, I'm not particularly worried.

His accuracy is bad right now. It's a weird one, since it hasn't been an issue in the past.

That all being said, it could be like Bryce Young (who, to be fair, has looked fine the past few weeks), where the team buys a new O-line who does give him time, have the OC get receivers open, and he still looks awful. Which is why I'd say that he might suck, but you can't say in this current situation.

We saw the tweet of first Q TDs, but I was curious about first half offensive TDs….

TEN - 0
HOU - 1
IND - 0
LAR - 1
CAR - 4
JAX - 2
WAS - 0
ARZ - 0
NE - 0

Less than 1 first half TD per game when averaged out. So pathetic words don’t even properly describe just how bad it is.

I was curious how CW compared to the last 5 1OA QBs for interceptions and sacks…

Young - 16 games, 527 attempts, 10 INTs, 62 sacks
Lawrence - 17 games, 602 attempts, 17 INTs, 32 sacks
Burrow - 10 games, 404 attempts, 5 INTs, 32 sacks
Murray - 16 games, 542 attempts, 12 INTs, 48 sacks
Mayfield - 14 games, 486 attempts, 14 INTs, 25 sacks

CW on pace for 17 games, 561 attempts, 11 INTs, 71 sacks

Expected sacks to be worse, but if he lasts 17 games and how the line has been lately and their health…. I can easily seeing that being 80+.
