Fields only needs to play 2 more games (I believe it's 2.5 games to be exact) to get the 4th round pick from Pittsburgh. I can careless if Russ plays after that but I doubt Justin is sitting anytime soon. They're 4-2 with him as the QB.
I think it's by snap count, so just playing 9 full games might not be enough if Wilson plays a more efficient offense

4-2 headed into the bye and then the next three games are @ WAS, @ ARZ, vs NE.

7-2 is probably a long shot as that would also mean a 6 game win streak to get there, but it's not exactly an impossible task either with those matchups.

I would be shocked if the Bears are not at least 6-3 as they head into week 11 when they host Green Bay. What a huge game that could be.

Swift has been stopped short of line of scrimmage 3 times in the last 3 weeks, after being stopped short of line of scrimmage 9 times in the first 3 weeks. Well over 100 yards from scrimmage all three games. And unlike the Panthers and Rams, the Jags statistically actually had a pretty good run defense until yesterday.

The Commies best defensive lineman, Jonathan Allen, tore his pec and will obviously miss the game against the Bears after the bye. Huge loss for them.

Wonder where Reddick ends up because of this, if anywhere at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lions go after him after losing Hutchinson

They need to find a pass rusher to replace him because options within are not great

Figuring out deal to make $ work would be issue but if there is a will to get deal done it can be done

Sounds like the Steelers are sitting Fields this weekend. Gonna have to hope for Wilson to play poorly to get Fields back on the field.
Can't say I'm surprised. I watched most of that game and Fields made some bad decisions that he got away with because of defensive penalties. And in typical Fields fashion he failed to complete some routine throws.

I haven’t watched but that steeler defense must be something else. Fields put up like 157 yards or something and they won again I think right? Pretty sure I saw that on the Telly. If you ask our famous twitch poster it’s all because of him though.

Best D-line in the league. It's crazy good. It has the elite player in Watt, like the Browns, Lions (until Sunday) and 9ers, but all other players on the line are also performing. Secondary is good too, though it's easy to play in the secondary when your line shuts down the run and gets pressure on the QB in pass plays.

Jets sure do like making desperate moves.

-----------

As for Fields, the Civil War Bears fans had over him has transferred to Pittsburgh. ATP, I can not see how either Fields or Russ will be QB1 in Pitt or elsewhere in 2025.

With the trade deadline fast approaching and with at least a couple teams already resigned to be sellers (Cleveland and Vegas), and with Poles unafraid to make deadline deals - here's a hypothetical - If Poles has the opportunity to acquire a difference making d-lineman or a difference making o-lineman - which would you do?

For me - as much as acquiring a Maxx Crosby or Miles Garrett would take the Bears defense to the next level - I think the o-line is the bigger need ... eh, I think I'd still pull the trigger on Garrett or Crosby.

If he can acquire a difference making O-lineman, he should do that, no doubt. I don't think there is one out there for sale. I saw something about Teller out of the Browns, but I think that's regular Twitter nonsense. Having a good O-line is just too valuable to sell off a good player on that line and risk blowing it up.

The D-line, I don't really see them investing both trade value and the necessary cap space in an elite edge unless we know beyond the shadow of a doubt that Williams is that dude. I'm one of the biggest believers in Williams out there, but I don't know if he will take 10 weeks, or one full season, or more to get to the point where it's time to load up to contend.

I could see them investing a lower pick (late day 3) in a space eater over DT Williams or Cowart, since the D gets LEAKY (especially on runs) as soon as the 1st unit takes a break. I, unfortunately, think Zacch Pickens might be trending for bust territory. He didn't look good in preseason in year two, and then got injured. And he was never really good in the run game in college. Luckily, space eaters and runs defending DTs are cheap.

Personally, I'm hoping they do little more than pick up some D-line depth before the deadline. Keep the 1st rounder and both 2nd rounders, save the cap space, throw an overpay on Trey Smith after the season, and go 2x O-line and 1x edge in some order the first three picks in the draft.
