Should be a good measuring game tonight for both the colts and the IceDogs. Niagara has gotten off to a hot start but I think they will eventually be surpassed by Barrie, Oshawa, and Brampton. I could see them finishing around the 4-5 seed which is higher than I originally thought.

I’m glad to see Brauti having success so far in Niagara. I had a feeling he was due for a breakout year. The trade was good for him as it gave him the opportunity to play top line minutes and a spot on the 1st power play unit.

Wakely out tonight. Hopefully nothing serious. Also interesting that Hillebrandt isn't starting in a big divisional game with no 3 in 3 this weekend.

Edit: they updated the lineup and Hillebrandt is starting.

First time watching Eliason as a Niagara fan was tough damn we missed out has the right toughness you want as a defender without really crossing the line in this game at least I really enjoyed watching him

He did get 2 penalties including an unsportsmanlike but yes he is a great pick up for cheap and an 06

Yeah Eliason has been fun to watch. Has some lapses with bad penalties but honestly it's improved so much since the beginning of the season. Good skater for such a big guy as well. Nice to see Brauti playing well. Felt like he played most of the game.

Colts were solid last night got up 3-1 then blew it before the end of the second and it was tied 3-3 going to the third and the game could have went either way but it was nice to see the team bounce back and make a statement in the third that’s a big win. This Colts team right now is playing like the team everyone expected to and they haven’t had a fully healthy lineup yet. Saw Vaughan didn’t play last night either wonder if the team has a sickness going around or what but it hasn’t effected the teams on ice product.

Big dub last night, I didn't see the game just watched the highlights. Hopefully Wakely is ok. Good luck to the boys in Erie today

Vaughan is away from team as he's participating in the U17 challenge happening in Sarnia right now Nov. 1-9. Vaughan is on Team Red, they lost to the Swedes yesterday 5-3 in preliminary action

Read in the post game article on Barrie 360 that Wakely has an ankle injury. Not sure on the timetable but Marty doesn't think it's long term.

Well they sure didn’t show up tonight. Bad giveaways on the pp then Hillebrandt gave them one I don’t understand playing a kid back to back so much when u have a backup goalie that’s 3-0.

Just a brutal performance tonight up and down the lineup really missing Wakely’s presence tonight. 91 and 16 on Barrie are no where near good enough to play ohl hockey unfortunately. And hemming isn’t the player u thought he was coming over as a 1st rounder.

Let's not overreact to one off performance. Handsor is a defenceman playing forward. Debridge is playing higher in the lineup than he should be, but he's not the reason the whole team is off tonight. This exact lineup won huge in Niagara last night. Flush it and get it back next week.

U could say a overreaction but it’s also a wake up call to marty that he’ll have to add some depth at the deadline for when players get injured so we don’t have guys in positions that they can’t play or positions they can’t excel in

Handsor has a hard enough time playing defence putting him at forward is just bad coaching and not fair to team or kid. Hrebik has played well enough this year that he should have gotten the start on a back to back. This team will go as far as the talent takes them despite the bad coaching decisions that will occur all year long

Hrebik is alot better than people think imo. I would give Vader in listowel a chance to play some games on defence aswell I don’t think Handsor is any better imo just bigger. Same with up front Derbidge doesn’t give u anything that an 07 or 08 couldn’t give u either

They currently have 3 forwards injured or at U17. Doesn't really matter if they add more depth, you can still only carry so many forwards on the roster. They probably still need a middle 6 winger upgrade by the deadline but that doesn't help the problem you're alluding to having Handsor on forward with 3 other guys out.

It would make sense to me that Grisolia likely asked to be moved given he is an 05 who was likely slotted in a 4th line role. Maybe he would have bumped Lowe but I'm sure the kid just wanted to go somewhere where he could get decent mins. He's a good player who works hard it's nice to see he landed well. He had no chance of being an OA in Barrie next year. That and I'm guessing Marty wants to play the kids on that 4th line as he probably should.

Fair enough about Gris but I don't think he's getting much more of an opportunity with Kitchener than what he would have had here.

Hopefully the Colts get Wakely back & rebound this week vs. the Wolves

Seems to be a bunch of players jumping from the USHL to the OHL with the upcoming NCAA news. Wonder if there's any chance William Moore could be one of them.

I’d say there is a better of Mustard this season and Moore next season when done US NTDP

It would make sense for Moore to spend a year in the O next year as long as he doesn't plan to go to school as a true freshman. He is going to be a high pick so I would think whoever drafts him will influence what he does. Mustard I can't see him leaving Providence but you never know I guess.
A more likely scenario is their 2nd pick Bowen and 3rd pick Emmerton returning next year. I would think both will need some assurances that they will actually play some significant minutes and that will be the challenge Barrie will face attracting their picks to sign given Marty's propensity to play his vets over the kids. There will likely be a bunch of 18/19 year old free agents who were planning the school route who should become available to sign in the event Barrie loses a lot of their roster. That may become more of the norm with the NCAA changes. Barrie's 1st rounder plays and the rest of the picks season somewhere else until they're 18-19. If I'm an advisor I'd be very clear to my clients that Barrie isn't the best spot to get a lot of opportunities as a kid at 16-17. Is what it is.
