BAR needs to grow some b*** and just trade akey if thats what is holding this up.

I'd rather that than Beaudoin... go for it this year, trade your picks in addition and have what is already a started rebuild next year with beaudoin, lowe, etc. and build for a strong team around 06's and 07's.

akey wont be around for the next run. he'll play his way out of the league.

If they're trading Akey they'll need to go add another defenseman or two ideally.

I disagree, I think Akey is a guy to deal next season. He is needed for a run this season. It would be hard to upgrade on him and he's a right handed shot.

theres no run this year. mintyukov off the table.

as dirty says, better call flint now for lombardi and kressler.

although i think now its too late

Well if wright and Hache headed to Spits and Mintyukov headed to Saginaw, things looking pretty glum in Barrie.

I suspect Barrie making another move tomorrow. They are not going to sit idly by watching the Petes, Ottawa load up. North Bay may as well. Can't play poker and go halfway in and then fold.

this is dylan sadowy all over again.

what a fail, team should be owned by the city not an individual

barrie gonna be phoning flint tomorrow . flint gonna make them their b**** lol
Take a look at Kitchener before you say anything about teams being owned by the city. Kingston also tried it withthe Canadians and it was a disaster.

What you need is an owner that can hire the right people and understands the game. That s why Windsor is so much better after the new owners took over. Why Ottawa is usually very good.

So Barrie and London didn’t really go out and get any big fish yet… any way they can strike a deal. Do you feel your roster is strong enough to compete with Ottawa, Peterborough and North Bay?

I agree, what government run agency runs in an efficient, progressive, proactive capacity?

I still think Barrie will add a few pieces today. WIth any luck and a few Thornton Miracles we get a few good rounds of playoff hockey, maybe more but unlikely.

In fairness, unless Thornton manages to weasel his way into Lombardi and Kuzmin out of Flint (dunno if they are even selling), it will be tough to get the bullets needed to get out of the 2nd round in the East.

I'm doubtful we can compete with Ottawa, I think they are the team to beat, however Simpson and the scoring pieces added by the Petes are going to be tough as well. They have also been very systematic so it will be interesting to see how all the newer guys fit into that system. I beleive North Bay needs some more scoring and defensive depth to be considered a powerhouse. Really like Nelson, he is a beast out there every time he comes to Barrie.

I agree, and that's why I said a few rounds ;)

But it’s unfortunate as you don’t want to waste Clarke’s last go at it

If Clarke cared about Barrie or his mates at all, he would have shown face here in August for training camp. Outgoing Captain should have been around to show some of the 2022 picks the ropes.

But Yes I agree, right now him coming back seems like a waste to not at least give it a go!
