Nope. Released from PTO (unsigned by Thunder).
Turns out you're partially right- Wichita brought him back after all. Dunno why the Cuda can't just say they released him from the PTO.

So except for Bystedt, everyone shoots right among the Cuda forwards? That's crazy.
Yep, thought that too.It is, isn't it? Plus Bystedt's a center, so there's a pretty good chance all three of our scoring lines have a right-handed shot at left wing to start the season.
I keep editing this post because Cuda media is being weird. Jeremie Bucheler, Nolan Burke, Gabriel Carriere, Aaron Dell, Gannon Laroque sent to Wichita (ECHL). Ivan Lodnia released from his PTO. The original tweet listed Joe Carroll as going to Wichita as well and removed him from the camp roster, but now he's listed with the team again.
I'm a little surprised we sent both Carriere and Dell down to start, that leaves us with two goalies.
They really must be down on Laroque. He was pretty bad in the Friday preseason game and better Sunday.
We are now at 16F/9D/2G, feels pretty close to an opening day roster.
How worried are you about the defense? Schuldt and Thompson are no doubt top 4 if not top pair AHL defensemen but everyone else is still a bit of a question mark. Cuda really need Carlsson to get healthy and/or for Mukhamadullin to be sent down for me to feel comfortable there won't be a repeat of last season's defensive depth issues.
Askarov should probably get used to playing behind a questionable defense anyway. Not that worried mostly because Muk is practicing again. I have no idea what's wrong with Carlsson, though, so that's the only part I've got concerns with. That guy is a big reason I'm so optimistic about our defense this year and he should be our #1 D. Warsofsky said it'd be "close" as to whether he'd be ready for training camp, and obviously he wasn't. But that hopefully means that's a short-term issue.
Pulli and Frisch are good in their roles, Furlong looked solid in preseason. Cagnoni... yeah, we'll see. Not unusual for us to use the first few games to try guys out and see where they stand. But I've got high hopes for our defensive unit, and missing those two guys does downgrade the group from "very good" to just "fine" in my eyes.

Peng on Askarov in AHL
Our opening roster, in colorful graphic form
Says opening night roster, but one name on there for sure won't be playing this weekend, that being Scott Sabourin, who's still suspended for two games.
So does this mean Halttunen officially made the AHL?
I plan to catch the games if possible. I feel like so long as he has a scoring line role (could be third line) and sticks on the PP, there's value to having him go pro.Yep, looks that way. I really want to see how he plays this weekend, he's going to have a lot of competition down here as the season goes on.

His direct competition is probably like, Sabourin, Graf, Cardwell, Robins, Bailey? If the centers go Poturalski, Bystedt, White, Vanroboys, then any of the top three lines seems like it could be a scoring line with the Vanroboys/Vincent grind line. The lineups this weekend are going to missing three forwards, in all likelihood. Sabourin, Bordeleau (guessing he starts down here after missing all preseason), and then one more forward will be sent down once Vlasic gets healthy. There's going to be a lot of competition for those top 9 winger spots.
Season hasn't even started yet and I'm already antsy for this roster to be at full strength.

Bailey-Poturalski-Sabourin
Cardwell-Bystedt-Halttunen
Robins-White-Graf
Vincent-Vanroboys-Russell/Coe/Houle
Then maybe sub Bordeleau for Robins when he gets healthy? Seems solid to me.
How is Halttunen looking. Earlier I have heard that most sharks/Cuda fans thought he was not making the Sharks or the Barracudas. Just wondering if you all still think he's being sent down to London or is he staying in the AHL?More or less- there's also whoever that third forward I mentioned is, though, that'll be something to sort out when it happens. Obviously Sharks aren't going to be looking to keep their lineup at 15F/6D, so someone has to be coming down from that group. There's also Coe, who they had mostly playing in the middle six last season, but if it were up to me I'd put him with Vanroboys/Vincent and tell him to bring some energy or his spot goes to Houle.
I want to see Robins make this a conversation, he looked solid in Sunday's preseason game and if he can recapture some of his 22/23 form he should be in the mix. The fact that he's useful on the PK is a point in his favor, too. That injury made 23-24 a lost season for him, he never did look 100%. Relatedly, one more question to find the answer to: Is Colin White a lock for 3C? Because Robins can play there, too.
Seems like he's got a good shot to stick with the Cuda at this point, but nothing is set in stone. I thought he looked solid in his pre-season games. How is Halttunen looking. Lol....we're saying the same thing. The turnovers in our own end have been terrible and he's been guilty of a few giveaways at the blueline. He will come into his own. Scored a Hatty tonight.Seems like he's got a good shot to stick with the Cuda at this point, but nothing is set in stone. I thought he looked solid in his pre-season games.
Since you're here, what the hell is going on with Dickinson? He's been a disaster every single time I've caught a London game so far this season.
