How premature is it to write off Pasnichuk, Halbgewachs, Chmelevski, and Blichfeld? Clearly they are low on the depth chart...

Cuda lost 6 guys yesterday: five callups and Gregor to covid protocols.

Now, they can get 3 guys back for today's game (and they'd play 3 games in 3 days). But I can see 3-4+ guys called up from ECHL to fill out Cuda roster for today's game.

I wrote off Halbgewachs a long time ago. Flashy player in space but not good enough to overcome his lack of size. I haven’t seen Pasichnuk play. He didn’t play Friday and I didn’t see any Cuda games last year. I wouldn’t write off Chmelevski. He played well on Friday as a center with Raska. Blichfeld looked disinterested on Friday. I’m not sure if that was just one bad game but if he keeps playing like that he’s done.

I've not liked what I've seen out of Blichfeld to start the season. He's looking like 2019-20 Blichfeld, the guy who floated around the rink every other game. Last season he looked engaged every game. Sommer said in one of his media appearances he wanted Blichfeld to focus on getting into position for shots, and he does that on the PP. 5 on 5, he's doing nothing at the moment.

Yikes. 2-0 Stockton 5 min in. This could get ugly quick.

3 goals on 7 shots is like Martin Jones level. To be fair, We have an AHL caliber goalie with a literal ECHL defense in front of him.

This is getting ugly in more ways than one.

Alright, I do have a few thoughts off that debacle (4-1 Stockton):

-Garreffa did great. I wasn't expecting that. Used his speed to start off the rush well, never get beaten. McDonald, though. Could do without seeing him again.

-Slight concern of mine. Yeah, it means he's doing his job well, but it's been a few different opponents, and one common denominator is that literally every opposing player seems to want to light up Adam Raska. Stockton got a few good shots in on him tonight. He drew another three penalties, but he's not a big guy. Worried about him getting laid out by one of these.

-One of those was a charge by Stockton's Alex Gallant in the third. I had forgotten what that guy was like on the Barracuda. Guaranteed to do something stupid each game, and there it was.

-Ibragimov got injured when he tripped over someone on an offside play. Something with his leg.

-Best game I've seen Hamaliuk play, in that he looked confident when he had the puck. That was about it, though.

-Blichfeld's main contribution to this game was a really sad dive that got called for embellishment, followed by him getting a misconduct that he wasn't even aware he'd been called for.

-After we got destroyed in the first, we weren't all that bad, but it was pretty obvious we were lacking a lot of our talent on defense. Hope we get some guys back before Saturday.
