If you want to talk about rigged trophies, there is no better example than this one. Messi wins this? Dafaq, you cannot be serious, I mean okay he's a great player, but hell even Kante was better than him last season.
This is very troubling, because Messi winning is shambolic, but him being so close is unbelievably bad.

If you want examples of rigged then 2013 and 14 would be what to use when FIFA were handling it. Ribery and Neuer should have won those.

Kellyn Acosta was robbed, won two federation tournaments this summer. Messi only one 
Not only stats prove it, but performances such as the Copa America prove it too. Messi had a better year than Lewa.
And I'll repeat : when Lewa was out injured, CHOUP MOUTING scored a goal a game.

Nothing shambolic about Messi winning it, him or Lewa were both worthy winners. Messi was absolutely brilliant with a Barcelona team that since has struggled to score a goal or two in any given game, on top of that he was the best player at the Copa, and they won that thing by beating Brazil in Rio. This thing was sealed for Leo on that particular night.

ESPN is generally subpar at rating anything footie-based. Not too fussed by the first 3 (Benz would be 2 for me) but the 4th and 5th spots should be changed, Kane and Lukaku have not had it this season.
