Depending where and how bad it is, it would just flat out affect your whole body. Lot of times you can't do any types of workouts, and the ones you can do became rather short and useless.

Yup, back issues are serious business. Hopefully he's ok.

Last night Bako blew out San
Antonio 7-1. 2 goals in the first two periods and 3 in the third. The win was due to all lines clicking. The energy line of Moroz, Currie and Allen were GREAT. Newbury won just about every face off he had and should be signed to an AHL contract. Fraser was great. he hit everyone and if a puck got by him he skated his butt of and had his partner, laleggia covering him as well.

Laleggia was a vastly improved player for the first time. Betkar was a complete IDIOT. He passed the puck directly in fornt of LB where a forechecker was waiting. Thank god LB remembered how to play Goalie. Overal it was a great 59 minute game. Betkar caused a complete wate of 1 minute. He also refuses to use his body to check players. his idea of checking is excuse me...excuse....and pushed them gently into the boards. The boards themselves never move......

Here is Laleggias filthy breakaway pass. Too bad camera angle sucks but that is a hail mary and half. Super impressive stuff

Skill set is pretty rare for our D prospects. Dont see many guys able to make that pass

JP has played his 9 NHL game. Do they send him down or keep him??? If they keep him then they burn a year of his contract. With all that are injured and should be back soon is it worth burning a year of NHL time doing soft minutes????

He's staying up. He's been one of the best Oiler forwards the last 3-4 games.

Khaira and Reinhart play one game and then out two or more. It appears they both sustained injuries in the preseason and have not fully healed.

On a different note previous to this weekend, we have not won a game all season unless JJ (Khaira) was in the line up. We played like crap Friday, but Saturday with the additional loss of Simpson due to a call up we dominated Texas a team we have NEVER beaten with Ellis in net.

Ellis is out shining LB. Beck is sensational and a vast improvement on Ford form last year. The energy line of Currie, Moroz and Newbury are a blast to watch. Hopefully we sign Newbury to an AHL contract as he is on a PTO. Newbury wins the vast majority of his face offs. This line hits and scores. Fraser made a mid ice hit and the Texan went flying.......The game ended with a 6 on 4 but Bako held its own.

When this team as well as Edmonton is healthy it be will a dynamic force. Laleggia is improving. Betker is crap. I do not understand on how such a big guys plays a nonphysical game. Not sure why MacT drafted him.

How so? Has LB let in some weak ones? Looking at the stats both have almost identical stats

Ellis------ 4 GP 243 mins 132 saves 2.72 GAA 0.923 sv%
Brossoit: 4 GP 236 mins 124 saves 2.55 GAA 0.925 sv%

Although I do think Ellis is going to shock some people and could surpass Brossoit

LB has been a victim of bad luck. He's played in many of the games we've lost, though his stats are stellar. Ellis is getting more scoring, leading him to W's.

What's the word in Edmonton on injuries? I believe the Condors are short 4-5 players who would be here given a heathy oilers team. Several were never sent down due to training camp injuries, plus Beck and Simpson are in Edm.

Some very interesting stuff....

We signed two PTO's

Kellen Lain...LW
Bryce Aneloski....D

Lain is an ex-Canuck and scored his first NHL goal against the Oilers

Oilersnation says that Russell may be playing tomorrow night

Fleming did an interview yesterday and he stated that players may be sent down sooner than expected.

Beck was a healthy scratch in the last game and Simpson has been in the press box.

Reinhart is in Edmonton getting his back evaluated. To me this sounds like a very long term issue before he comes back.

Ellis in net looks superior to LB. LB is a butterfly goal tender whereas Ellis aligns himself to the net. Now in the game against Texas he made two phenomenal saves using acrobatics. Personally I think that he will give LB a run for the #1 job here. It also shows that Chiarelli going to the NCAA route versus depending on draft picks is a good thing.

Last year MacT would only call up from Norfolk and essentially were his draft picks which really sucked. This year Chiarelli is using the entire ECHL to call up forma nd so far in Newbury we have a solid winner. He deserves an AHL contract. We shall see about the other two.

There seems to be something going on. He is not playing in Baku. When Simpson was sent doen the Baku website had a stews release on it. It shows Lander on their roster but he has not played.

Maybe he's seeing if the Oilers will let him go play in Europe :dunno:

Idle speculation on my part, I don't actually have any idea. I feel a bit for Lander to be honest. I thought he played really well this year on the 4th line. Was responsible defensively, great on faceoffs and great on the PK. I'm tempted to say I'd rather have him in the lineup over Hendricks most nights. But Hendricks isn't even going to be in the lineup most nights so he'd need to beat out others.

They could be shopping him or he technically could still be with the team and are waiting to send someone else down.

He stayed in Edmonton the last time he cleared waivers.

Yeah, it's weird. Maybe Lander's agent is trying to find a European team to take him instead of going to the AHL.

The preview for tonight's game says Lander is supposed to be in the lineup for the Condors.

Makes sense. I don't think he will be leaving just yet. He had a good run and if/when there's an injury I bet he is the first call-up.

What I heard was that first of all he stayed with the team for the road trip (back to EDM two days after getting waived) and then applying for work permit in the US. That would have meant Monday this week, so he wouldn't have made the game on 22 nov. He said it will take some days for the permit and we're Monday + 5, too early for something to be odd about it imo. Another week and we can start talking.

He's on a one-way deal so I don't see why he wouldn't play in the AHL knowing he'll likely get a call up at some point. Don't know how loans to Europe work, but would he still make his NHL contract salary over there? Because he does in the AHL.

And Lander just scored. Bake's offence really seems to be hurting right now. Once Pakarinen is back (and hopefully clears waivers if they choose to go that route) I hope they get a boost. They could certainly use Benning back too down there. Feel like he would create a lot for them with his ability to get pucks on net.
