Arniel has his proof now … Ehlers and Perfetti do not belong on the same line.
Interesting stat Hellebuyck has shutout the Avs 3 straight regular season games.

This is an interesting point, as the #1 line won't be messed with anytime soon. That leaves maximizing Ehlers with the # 2 line. I see Perfetti finishing off the season like last year doing bottom line duty.

Agreed with all. Sammy coming back makes a huge difference and Pionk was really good tonight. Anyone watching tonight, please explain why you don't want Pionk back if he comes at a reasonable price, because you will be hard pressed to find a similar RHD anywhere near the $6M price point.

The last time he had a great year was in the bubble against a historically weak Canadian division, which was a contract year. No bubble this time, but a contract year nonetheless. I don't trust him to continue this. Contracts should be based on what your projected results will be, not what you've done in the past. Reasonable price? Sure. Not a 6m player though.

What does this mean? What message is he trying to tell us? What is his motivation? Who is behind this ?

Why do the Jets own the Avalanche in the regular season, but get killed by them in the playoffs?

My theory: Okay, here's what we've got, the Kroenke family (they own Wal-Mart and the Avs) in conjunction with the sasquatch people, under the influence of Gary Bettman are forcing an invisible hand to manipulate a false sense of hope in the regular season in a fiendish plot to eliminate the Jets from winning the Stanley Cup.

Based on the comments you guys are posting, the team played a really solid game up and down the lineup.
Great to see Helle with another SO - sounds like our D handled the Aves speed tonight - and our Ehlers scored a couple - all is good.

I think tonight showed a # 2 center is probably our biggest need. Lurch and Nino changed the complexion of the game, but a permanent fix is needed. I really liked how our D stepped up which makes me a little less concerned with an upgrade there.

Good to hear about the D stepping up - based on comments, it sounds like Samberg has filled a large hole and things are settling in.

First game for my 8 year old daughter. She had a BLAST, getting right into the chanting and singing.

She also has a MAKAR jersey, but there’s no way she was wearing that jersey tonight. She’s a die hard Jets fan first like her daddy!!! Wouldn’t allow daddy to wear his Avalanche Forsberg either (which I wouldn’t have anyway) hahaha!!!

I think he has too. This could be what was needed instead of one heavy line. Spread it out. Speed together with size worked.
I did not think the Jets could do it but they did and the Leafs lost!

My wife is Flip and we go when Jets celebrate Filipino night
Anyway back to the game
Random thoughts
Sammy is solid He is never really out of position Good to see the 54-4 pairing again
Strong game from 44-2
Stanley and Coghlan made a few mistakes but didn’t cost us any goals.
Barely serviceable 3rd pairing
Like to see Miller and Fleury back
Hellybuyck was impressive.
MacKinnon generates opportunities with his quickness but Helle anticipates well.

As for the forwards
Other than the CVS line there were So many player combos from what I used to seeing I got confused which was 2nd/3rd/4th line
I generally like what I was seeing from the Jets forwards
They were outplaying the Alvs along the boards for puck battles and everyone played a tight forward checking.
I think that’s the style we have to play against this team
Alvs are fast in transition and we can’t be trying to outgun them like we did try to do in the playoffs last season

Ok, Hellebuyck on his way to yet another vezna. I watched this team with Pavelec for years, sometimes I have to pinch myself that we have a hall of fame goaltender.

I wish Ehlers could get shots off the rush like that every night that was vintage Halifax Mooseheads. The pain from giving up 5 goals a game to these bums... Must crush Colorado to dust in April.
