Blue Jays Discussion: Back in Toronto AND things are happening (trade deadline @ 4pm ET/1pm PT today)

Ridiculous overpay. We have a deep enough farm that Martin shouldn't have even been in the conversation in the same way San Diego never gives up their top tier guys.

I really don't like this trade, but... quick reminder that Patino was a 60 FV when he was moved for Snell.

The bright side is that Berrios is great, and has another year of control. He may also re-sign at the age of 28. The not so bright side is that this is significantly more than what the Dodgers traded for Scherzer AND Turner.

To be fair, Scherzer was never going to come here.

I mean if they lose Berrios after next year this trade is horrible. You could've gotten Turner and Scherzer for about the same price. Just better value overall even if Scherzer is a pure rental

Don't think they would be able to say Toronto in full before Scherzer used his 10/5 to block.

Sadly I was kind of all right them losing some games over the last week or so Figured they would feel out it. Trade some of the big expiring contracts and go all in next year. This is the opposite of that. Going to regret it.

Even if the fanbase is pissed, the guys in the clubhouse have to be pretty pumped though. Getting Berrios and Handjob is big and you know they don't give a flying fadoo about the prospects that were dealt. Win now time.

I am not upset because we gutted the farm but other teams are trading for pitchers like Berrios while leaving their top 10 prospects untouched or picking a fringe top 10 prospect off. We went ahead and gave them two. It is just poor asset management for a team that frankly just isn't going to make the playoffs this year anyways.

Orelvis is not a better prospect, as of today, than Moreno. That's an asinine suggestion, and I like Orelvis a lot.

MLB.com seems to have Moreno above Orelvis by 1 spot, while Fangraphs in January had Orelvis above Moreno by 1, Baseball America seems to have Orelvis a bit ahead of Moreno couple months ago. To say its asinine to suggest Orelvis is better, is a bit harsh.

Calm yourself. We over paid in prospect capital but Berrios is absolutely not a middle of the road pitcher.
