Not sure I know what you mean. If someone offers you millions to do something you love (coach), you're not gonna turn it down. I'd sign it so fast, the pen would rip through the paper.
What Bobby Brown said. If Babs has any self-reflection, he should have known the league and players are done with that kind of behavior. That is if he actually wanted to fulfill that contract offer.

Maybe babs can scam another team In a couple years before everyone really catches on to his schtick

Fair enough.

But, then again, he may have thought to himself, "I'm gonna be me and if the players don't like it, they can fire me and pay me my millions".

Given the way this unfolded, I think that is thee case. Now, if I did that as a contractor/business owner, I'd be chased out of town with pitchforks as well.

And I thought Aaron Rodgers didn't last long at his new team.
At least Rodgers was smart enough to have a “plan B”…

You think it was okay for a person in a position of power to ask to look at someone else's phone and spend minutes scrolling through it?
I'm not gonna get into the whole phone thing - to me it's a distraction. I also figure it's being exaggerated.

Babcock traded some embarrassment for millions. It is what it is. I'd happily let you drag my name through the mud if you're willing to write me a 9 figure cheque so...

The 'whole phone thing' is the entire topic at hand - there isn't some other issue that resulted in Babcock resigning. And if it was being exaggerated, the league and NHLPA wouldn't have gotten involved and met with the players and essentially told the Blue Jackets that Babcock had to go.

But, if it wasn't the phone, it would have been something else in a week or two. Like I said before, his tenure was doomed from the start.

He was doomed because who he is a person is someone people don't want to work for or with and that character was destined to reveal itself

In this case, the courts or police in question stepped in. Not sure how that's relevant. But, serious, Frasier was supposed to be 41 in that? I'm not buying it.
He was born in 1955 so the time line is pretty close. He may have actually been YOUNGER than 41 at the time. :)

The point of the video is, as the dad says, "Sometimes Life Sucks!" - so don't let it eat a hole in your stomach.

The point I'm making is most of us saying Babs got what was coming to him for phone gate aren't saying life ain't fair. We're fine with how this was ultimately handled. The fake tough guys seem to be whining about how life is no longer fair.

And damn, Kelsey Grammar must have been born old.

He resigned when faced the possibility of being terminated with cause following the NHLPA investigation.

He didn't get a 9 figure cheque. I'm not even sure he got a 7-figure cheque, and if he did, whoever negotiated that on the Blue Jackets side was probably not paid for the result of that negotiation.

Proof?

I think most people are okay with how things played out - unless he got a BIG parachute cheque and then, again, life's not fair.

Kelsey Grammer's been around for so long, it's hard to tell how old he is in any clip. That hairline doesn't help, of course.

You're expecting a lot more from others than bad 90s TV for supporting their speculations. I'd look for a 21 Jump Street clip, but I'll leave that to the experts.

The hairline and the build, I thought he was approaching 50 on Cheers.

Frasier is a GREAT show, my friend, a GREAT show !!!!

If I was stuck on a desert island with only one comedy show, that might be it.

Saw this comment, after the fact, and it made me laugh.

Anyway, I am off. Have a great night, PS. :)

I know others who like it the same way, but having had a leg in the psychology/psychiatric racket, it was always low hanging to me. Not judging, just found it a bit of a dud.

There actually has been hinted more. That’s the main thing in this thread since it’s the only specified incident we’ve heard yet. The reports keep saying multiple players were concerned and alluding to other things, though the phone might be the biggest.

Just seems he didn’t do well with young players in general
Sorry if this was already posted. I didn’t look through this whole thread.

Sounds like there is more to the story than what we know…

I was thinking something like that, people trashing those two vets but their statements came super early before more came out, and they had separate one on one meetings. It was always possible they didn’t know and Jenner only seemed to talk about his experience since he was named.

That's why people are trashing them though.

They were more focused on 'putting out the fire' than they were about getting to the bottom of it. If they truly cared about the players, they would have released a usual PR statement of "we are aware of the accusations and we are investigating. We have no further details at this time" and then actually investigate.

They basically tried to put out the fire without actually asking the players, that's on them.

Didn’t really seem like putting out a team fire. I mean maybe JG but he’s not super media savvy and sounded awkward and trying to focus on his meeting. Seemed more like trying not to trash Babs than trying to trash accusers

And Jenners name was specifically thrown out there by Biz so he definitely had to speak up on that based on how it was characterized. Biz made it sound like Jenners meeting was a big issue but it’s possibly Jenner was genuine that his meeting was fine.

Again their statements were really early on too, and training camp hasn’t started yet so they weren’t necessarily in close contact or any with every young player. They may have called other friends on the team, maybe more established players (I think werenski said he called a few guys) but not necessarily every single player

Also on Friedman’s podcast today he said it wasn’t necessarily a CBJ player who roped the PA back in when they were almost done.

It could be several players on the team had issues, or a couple or few to varying degrees, and the PA talking with guys on other teams apparently
