I mean, it could be anything! Maybe Babcock won the lottery and doesn't want to coach any more. Maybe he has a mentee who wants the job and is secretly stepping aside so that this opportunity can happen. Maybe he's going to be a pilot on the first manned flight to Mars and he has to start training!

It could mean anything, and I just don't see why folks aren't supporting Mike Babcock's courageous decision here.

Gotta be a record.

Hope there’s more info that comes out, the whole story is weird. Guy is hated by like ever since player who’s ever played for him though, so didn’t really believe his side of things.

Not for nothing, but this is the second massive scandal that happened under his watch in three years, the first being the comedy of events from 2020 to the end of 2021 while in the same role with the Rangers.

I’ve listened to id say 5-8 different podcasts on the situation. Read a few articles as well. The consensus is pretty clear. It was one younger athlete that we know of that was uncomfortable. Many podcast and radio shows asked former players both in Detroit and Toronto if they had dealt with this situation while they had Babcock as a coach. Some said yes, some said no. Some said they didn’t mind it, some said they weren’t asked to share photos but would have said no.

I’m not defending Babcock at all, I think it’s a weird request from a coach. But I think if any other coach asks the same question it’s a non story. But because Babcock has a history of manipulation and mind games his motivation behind this is questioned. Don’t think it’s as Egregious as people are making it to seem tbh.

So some crazy stuff must have actually gone down

Call me whatever but I was sorta rooting for Babcock this year

It's crazy that even under a microscope he was so set in his ways and not able to change

Shouldn't be just him though, the front office should probably resign now as well
 
Now I'm curious what was on the phones of some of these young players. Must be some pretty scandalous stuff if they were so uncomfortable with just showing it to someone. Pro tip: get burner phones for your salacious content. :laugh:
