Before there was internet and social media to have photos all the time on like a phone, people used to carry photos of their family in their wallets. When people would get to know one and another many would ask if so and so would have photos to show, that was normal. But now it seems like those times have changed, just because it's on a phone and people don't carry photos on them anymore.
I print out dank memes and keep them in my wallet. I wouldn't be comfortable showing them to random strangers tho.

Balls in a vice? You either have the talent to play in the nhl or you don't. Telling your coach to get f**ked isn't going to change that.

This whole situation could have been handled much more appropriately if one of the leaders on the team actually had the balls to tell babs to fu** off and focus on coaching rather than worrying about my phone.

I see you have a rich fantasy life.

Agree, young players today needs to be pampered, they want a coach that will understand them, and be gentle with them. Young players today have all the power, just look at all the mega contract they're signing at 21, 22 years old, if they don't like you as a coach you are toast!!! They just have to call in to any podcast out there and say their coach made them feel "uncomfortable" and that coach is gone.
Young players today realize their talent shouldn’t be held hostage to a f***ing weirdo.

can anyone imagine what's going to happen if the next coach asks on a monday morning "how was your weekend? "

Some team is going to have a bout with stupiditis for Q.

Bowman? Not so much.
I wouldn't underestimate this league. The process has already begun.

Joel Quenneville met with NHL coaches, GMs to discuss Kyle Beach scandal, fallout and what he’s learned

Step 1. Make it publicly known that you want to share what you've "learned."

EDIT: sorry, the link shows up weird but Stan Bowman was there too.

So is Babs going to apologize for his actions or just lament how 'disappointed' he is?
For a guy who preaches accountability he sure seems to struggle actually taking any for himself.
He's going to talk to his kids again and see if they can continue that "here's how to human in the workplace" training.

The accusation is that he rifled through a player's phone. Would people let others rifle through their wallets back in the day? I doubt it. You would show only if you wanted to.
That's not the way the Captain said it happened...

So you're saying Babcock just grabbed someone's phone of them and opened it and started going through it?

They’ll answer like normal because that’s actually normal.

The meetings were one on one. He likely wasn’t there. He talked about his meeting with Babs

Babs and any coach can’t pull the same stuff with secure vet leaders and big money (with lots of term) stars. Those players will always be more secure than coach. His behavior with them on average would likely be way more respectful than with the kids

I think you are missing what is going on here. If he asked to see a pic of a family, that’s a none issue. Pressuring someone into giving you their phone and scrolling through everything is weird and inappropriate.

People didn't carry their mail and personal conversations in their wallets.

I think that Mike Badcock will be just fine, he accomplished everything there is in the world of hockey. Stanley cup, Olympic gold medal, millions of $$$$$ in the bank account, I think that Mike will survive. Young players nowadays are like very fragile little flowers. Lol It's a good thing they're living in 2023 and not 1973 because they wouldn't last one second back in the day they would shrink away lol

If memory serves I think he apologized for the Marner thing and took responsibility but to me he owes Franzen a major apology now that we know about Franzen's concussion and mental health issues. And as far as I know he's never really come close to a decent apology.

Some of the other things like Modano I don't think he has anything to apologize for.
