We live in a time where ANYONE can make accusations against you without any kind of proof and destroyed your life in a second. There's no denying that young guys today are soft, they're all about their feelings, I was born in 1971 I played hockey in 80's and 90's and kids today wouldn't last 1 minute back then!!! How come players can be caught with cocaine and hookers in their hotel rooms or they beat up their gf or wives and nothing happened to them, but the coach want to see some pictures and he's worst then Hitler!! It's crazy would we live in today.

The point being, it's not sensitivity but power. Dumb analogy, but most of the people who work for me aren't in a place to tell others to kick rocks as, in their mind, they just need the job and money. As their employer, it's my job to do so for them when they aren't being treated right. We aren't hunter gatherers.
I'm in total agreement with you.
I vote pukboy5kroner for cbj's next gm

Usually something does happen to those players. Do you want me to Google that for you?

Tell me again who was abused? I guess the definition of abuse has changed.

It is more of a situation where the sensitivity of a young man has gotten in the way of business. Sorry, but life isn't always easy, and if your feelings get hurt over something as small as this, then you have some growing up to do.

Like I said before, I couldn't care less if Babcock is employed or not, but don't cry abuse lol
Invading someone’s privacy under pressure is abusive. Not to mention he has a history of abuse and mindgames

God knows how he would have used anything he found in the phone he was rifling through, trying to make his young players dance for him so to speak, play his games. There’s really no reason to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Very detailed history of his shit in a league that typically buries stuff for years before it comes out, if ever. If he hadn’t rubbed so many players the wrong way for years and years this probably stays buried (unfortunately all the same in that case)

As has been pointed out, players tend to like Torts. They like Trotz. Hard ass no nonsense coaches can exist. Mind games are unnecessary and abusive

Yikes CBJ needs a new core of kids to build around. Can't have a team of soft offended babies that get a coach fired because they were uncomfortable with someone trying to get to know them

Then there it is. The changes in Columbus aren’t done. The locker room is going to be a mess with Jenner especially now. Management needs to go too, for forcing out that statement. Unfortunately Jenner, Werenski and Johnny G, will now lose tons of respect in the room.

I don't know how you can trust the GM's judgement going forward. If you're a young player who spoke up, you've got a lot of reflecting to do as to whether the organization has your best (health, privacy) interest at heart. Something that severe shouldn't happen because your GM decided to redeem Babcock and subsequently back him when this started.

Hey can I have a look at what's on your phone? My eyesight isn't so great btw so is it cool if we put this up on a big screen TV? I just want to know what kind of man you are.......nothing creepy or out of the ordinary here, but if you don't agree well you're probably not the kind of player I want on this team.

No pressure btw.

Yea, I'd like to get to know you give me your phone so I can scroll through your apps and pics. How about just have a conversation with the guy? make him feel comfortable, welcomed, respected? Instead Mike chose to play mind games.

Just glad it's not my team building around kids with no interest in being part of a team and are only there for a paycheck

If you don't know what abuse is, then I can't help you.

Yeah... I think theyll be fine. Jenner was the only player named so he was forced to respond to his experience.

I especially like the picture you paint.. a mindless baboon rifling through an innocent newbies phone looking for indecent pictures.

I get that Babcock doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt, barring his past, but do you actually know he took the phone and just started to go through it?

Judge and jury on hf

It's entertaining at the very least
