Only thing I am surprised here is that he didn't even get to see a single preseason game.

Even as a fellow Finn, I don't exactly see how Jarmo(and maybe JD as well) can continue unless there is just no good upgrade available immediately

The big scary tactics of Mike aren't working anymore... and I'd argue they've never really worked because I think he has had the teams to be able to win more than a single cup... but failed. I was surprised that Columbus decided to go with him in the first place. Doesn't seem like a good person and he's not a good coach either.

Last game of Modano career, was to be game 1500 and he benched him.
He’s a C U Next Tuesday, one would have to be sick in the head to defend him at this point

Genuinely a bad human and I like when bad things happen to bad people!

If Columbus wants to accomplish anything ownership needs to get rid of Davidson and Jarmo, two incompetent individuals who have done nothing their entire careers.
I mean that's just factually wrong. Before Jarmo arrived, the Blue Jackets had reached the playoffs once in their 12 years of existence. After that, Jarmo actually made them a regular playoff team, a pretty good regular season team as well. Obviously the last 3 years have been hard.

Maybe a change is needed to take the next step, especially considering how he f***ed up his last two coaching hires. But saying Kekäläinen didn't improve the franchise is simply false.

Welp. Trusted Jenner and Gaudreau's assessments, and the NHLPA's initial statement, and yet here's where we are now.

It's not Babs f***ing up that hurts. I was prepared for that; it would have been silly not to be. It's the cloud that this pulls over everyone else on the team and in the org.

Columbus brought in Tortorella after the nightmare year in Vancouver and it “worked out”.

They then decided they could do it again with Babcock years after the Toronto debacle. That’s my thinking at least.

It really was a totally unnecessary risk.
That was the basis on which many of us were willing to give it a try. Kekalainen's taken wild risks before and seen most of them pan out. But this...

The info was out there, you just didn't want to believe Biz and Whit. You preferred to believe a known asshole and bully.

Holy shit, I believed Biz. IM a TORONTO MAPLE LEAF FAN. I watched this guy for what? 4 seasons mess with players? screw around with Frank Corrado and Josh Leivo, mess with Mitch Marner who btw is my favourite player so that list incident pissed me off, play Patrick Marleau more than Matthews. I HATE Mike Babcock, I can’t make that more clear. There was no DOUBT in my mind that this situation happened.

But in typical HF fashion one or two people can’t read, they get tunnel vision and they want to start attacking people.

All I said is 1, a blank resignation statement doesn’t mean anything and 2. Because of Babcocks history he should have been aware that even if his intentions were pure, no one was going to believe that because he has a history of manipulation. If any other coach ask players for some photos I don’t think it would be that big of a deal because they wouldn’t think he’d use those images against them. But because it’s Babcock I wouldn’t put it past him to use that against players especially younger ones.

Y’all gotta stop just attacking people on these boards for no reason and making assumptions. I f***ing hate Babcock.

"Strong message sent: Treat all players as you would in a proper workplace"

Proper workplace? A professional hockey team isn't a proper workplace? Perhaps not a typical workplace, but certainly a workplace where good behavior is kinda expected.

Hopefully this will end Babcock's career for good this time.

Hell of a grift Babcock's got going on though. Sign a multi-million deal, sabotage it before it starts, and walk away with presumably millions in a settlement.

Dude's literally gonna spend almost a decade sitting at home getting paid not to coach.

I mean, you started your last post with that and then proceeded on three paragraphs of "We don't really know if he did anything wrong".

Heaven forbid people respond to that.

Jenner and Gaudreau did a huge disservice to their own teammates.

If you're CBJ leadership - shouldn't you have a better relationship with your players than Biz? They tried to put out the flames at the cost of their players. At least talk to the players before telling the media "no one would have a problem with it."

Good on Biz for sticking with his story even with 'CBJ leadership' trying to throw their own players under the bus to protect Babcock. Maybe the team needs new leadership?
