Don’t do it. Don’t do it! Oh well, King Leo and Will Smith. That’s a dream, but there is a better chance than a contender first.FC Hockey

I would encourage everyone to try this out a few times drafting for both AZ and Ottawa in 1st round.
Actually try it drafting for AZ, Ottawa, LA, Toronto, and Boston and tell me how you feel about the players taken. How does that Ottawa pick (use the Sabres instead if u think it’s too high) feel and tell me how that comfort level changes as u get to the other picks.
If OTT ends up 16th and wins the lottery the trade gets deferred, lol. Not trying to be an ass here Jakey, but you should try to know what you're talking about before you open your mouth buddy
I believe you are correct, but you should ask dv018, he seems to have all the answers. If ottawa finishes 16th and wins the lottery. They only move up to 6th which is not protected... or am I missing something.
Vomitously underwhelming. Did we get confirmation that we weren't willing to retain or take money back?
AM does not have any money.Who doesn’t? Please explain
I live here and been going to a ton of games for years. I just live in reality and have watched this organization bumblef--k their way around for a long time and don't get my hopes up anymore. (In my defense, I did say recently it appears they're headed in the right direction.) If you think it's negative, that's understandable. I won't even say you're wrong. Why are you here again? Just out of curiosity. You’re nothing but negative Nancy all the time. I just don’t get it.
Not if they miss the playoffs!!! It's high stakes but if they falter down the stretch BA comes out smelling like roses. If they sneak into the playoffs though, that won't be roses we're smelling.Ottawa played us like a fiddle.
I'm not sure he overvalued him but Meruelo cut his nuts off by seemingly mandating no money coming back. That seems to have been the sticking point with a lot of teams and Ottawa wisely used it to their advantage.Armstrong overvalued his player, no team bit, and he had to settle. That's it.
That's the bigger concern; if the team is financially better off playing in ASU's arena like Gutierrez and Bettman claim, then why lock the vault? Casino owners are all grifters. It ain't gonna shock me if Meruelo turns out to be cut from the same cloth. You're a billionaire? Spend some money and reward the people that buy tickets. The return is a little underwhelming, but the real concern is the absolute refusal to spend money. I get that Meruelo is probably hemorrhaging money with a 5,000 seat venue. I hope there does come a day where they get the TED built and start spending money again. It's kind of a tough situation to be in though. You may not want to start spending money until you're bringing in fans, but you're not going to bring in fans with draft picks either, you need to ice a good product first.
You are very likely to get your wish. Those top teams are not going to waste the pain of a tank year and trade down. Especially this year where a top 10 pick could have gone top 5 last year.I just hope the pick isn't traded in a package to move up/down so we have a single asset to evaluate as the return for Ottawa's 1st (the prize of the Chychrun return), and I'd hope the other picks are used for a single asset. I want to know what 3 dynamic prospects we have every time I see Chychrun in a Senators Jersey.
Well he did just cut an unplanned $25M check for the improvements to the Mullett.
I don’t know mcbain plays his bag off and we didn’t draft him.Another thing to keep in mind re: prospects vs. picks, is BA feels players play harder for a team they were drafted by.
