Axel Sandin Pellikka Signs Three Year Entry Level Contract

I wouldn't complain if they win it all in GR :naughty:

Heck, win BOTH! hahaha.

If they were to win in Sweden, it would actually be bigger for them. I don't see it happening, but heck all we Wing fans have these days are wishes and wants.

MBN and Pellikka now trailing 1-3 against Brynäs.

If they lose the series...

I wonder if it would be crazy to bring them at Detroit to play 1-2 last games.

Then send them to Griffins.

This way you would not mess with Griffins roster (like promoting somebody and inserting Pellikka and MBN straight to new team, playing important games), if they are fine at the playoffs.

Red Wings are playing non-meaningful games, so maybe it's the time to taste NHL, straight up?

They would burn a year of their ELC I think, so I can't see detroit doing that.

Does this guy move along the blueline like a Q Hughes / Makar / Hutson? Because that's the kind of dman we need.

Pretty much... yes.

I've compared him to potential right-handed QHughes for a while.

You guys have seen what adding one Lane Hutson makes for a crap franchise (Montreal)...? Same impact could happen to us.

I wouldn't put those expectations on him. The good thing is that we're not looking for ASP to step in and be our #1D, we're looking for him to (in the short term) become our ~#4-5 and run our #2PP.

That's for the start. But his career potential is to be like others.

In Hutson's case, he was matured at NCAA, and isn't so kid even though he s a small guy. And Montreal had nobody there, so the offensive 1D role kind of falled on him.

Same happened to Q.Hughes. He matured at NCAA, and joined Canucks crap team, Edler/Stecher/Myers as their top defencemen. He overlapped all of them instantly, and they become a playoff team.

Think Seider is clearly better than any of those defencemen at old Vancouver before Hughes or Montreal before Hutson. And it is tough for Pellikka to overlap Seider, even Ed. It takes years. But we could see instantly same kind of impact.

What I've analyzed lately, it's really these skill defencemen, who will turn the franchises around. And Red Wings are on a right path.

I could see ASP and Edvinsson playing on the same powerplay unit. ASP handles the puck better than some forwards on the second unit right now. Edvinsson has the capability of rotating down low, which could create havoc for defensive coverage.

Who on the Red Wings roster could deflect a puck like that, sorry can't remember the last deflection goal this season.
You aren't watching games. Kasper first half dozen goals seems to bounce off him.

Standing around and beeing hit like Abby was always criticized for is not what I was talking about, I think about a active deflection with the stick out of the air like you can see in the video.

I said more like Luke Hughes in another thread. That's a pretty good meter for ASP. I feel like the true magic from ASP happens in the left faceoff circle; he sets up plays well and absolutely blasts shots from that area.

Bring him over soon as possible this year to get games in...next year 100% needs to be given a roster spot in Detroit.. waive Holl, won't get claimed, then send him to GR..

If ASP struggles significantly call Holl back up..

X-Seider
Edvinsson-ASP
Johansson-Chariot
Gus
