Confirmed with Link: Avs trade de Haan, Parsinnen, a 2nd and a 4th to NYR for Lindgren (50% retained), Vesey, prospect Hank Kempf

And this is why I don't come here often. It's exhausting to be around people who are constantly negative about everything the team does and see everything from a negative lens. It's not "Mitts has been playing poorly" it's "Mitts is terrible and is going to cost us the cup, so cMac MUST make a move to fix things!". It's not "The Avs clearly weren't willing to pay the price it took to get Jones. I wish they had", it's "They completely whiffed on Jones."

The negativity builds up the point where things contrary to reality start to become common knowledge around here. Before the Avs traded Georgiev, I could swear it was common sense around here to assume CMac is a terrible GM who loves Georgiev and never does anything.

I get fans are irrational by nature, but it would be nice for that rationality to go in the Sea Eagles direction a little more often or at least find some balance.
Well Chris if you'd hurry up and trade Mittlejost for Crosby at 50% retained we'd get off your back. Chop chop, clock's ticking.

I'll forever love Darren Helm for basically telling Bednar to get f***ed during the '22 playoffs and kept hitting anything that moved. "Oh you want me to transition the puck? Sure, let me just collect it from the poor sap I just plastered into the boards"

What an absolute beut
For three good feeling videos on the Avs, I watch the Helm goal against St. Louis and the Burakovsky & Kadri goals against Tampa.

Glad the new boys finally get a chance to actually PLAY for the Avs tonight. So much judgement going round before actually even seeing what they got in our jersey. Looking forward with high hopes and a whole lotta cheer here!
Yes - we need to see in on the ice. But writers like Fortunato that said the Rangers might have gotten the better defenseman than Lindholm were ludicrous. This will be the 7th team for Calvin to play on. Like I said, keep watching de Haan for that "Do you like me now?" answer.

Watching them judge the two based on analytics is like me right after Toronto got Kerfoot.

Muahahahahaha.. haaaa

Compher out of the box bullying Bouchard and scoring on the break for me.

It's especially exciting because we know Bettman was cheating to favour the US team. Otherwise Compher would have been in the box for 2 + 5 + 10 minutes. And the ref should have taken the puck and literally thrown it into the Avs goal.

That's the only reason why the dynasty Oilers were defeated.

That moment Nate makes the turn to head back up ice. You can almost see a physical swtich simply flip. His entire demanor, stride, and purpose were simply not going to be impeded. He was going to go score his hatrick goal and there was any doubt in his mind... or mine even watching it live the first time.

In fact... I think this is the goal where Nathan MacKinnon actually surpassed Peter Forsberg as my second favorite all-time player. Roy will always be first for me and I just always preferred Foppa's style to Joe's. It was more devil may care and Nate... Nate's got that in him as well.

Agree to disagree. Being critical isn't necessarily being negative. It's actually coming from a place of wanting to see this team succeed.

I.E. I like Lindgren as a target. I'm not thrilled with the price we paid.

Mittlestadt needs to play better for us to have a shot. That's just a fact. He's been objectively terrible for a large stretch of the year.

EDIT: I'll add too that if CMac was proactive with goaltending in the summer, we likely don't need to move Kovalenko in the Blackwood deal. The writing was on the wall with Georgiev. It might seem like nitpicking but continue to add unnecessary value to trades adds up over time.

I agree many here could take a more even keel approach, but it's coming from a place of passion.
I agree that being critical is not automatically being negative. But I read the whole thread and believe me it was definitely negative.

Those things you said here are definitely more critical than negative, but that's not how you and others were writing before.

I agree CMac should have tried to move Georgiev in the summer, but a) we don't know for sure that he didn't try and b) I respect him for fixing the mistake as quickly as he did - most GMs would not have done so.

Lastly, I'll strongly disagree with "Mittlestadt needs to play better for us to have a shot.". Mittlestadt could play like absolute garbage and we'd still have a shot as long as MacKinnon, Makar, Blackwood, Toews, Nichushkin, Drouin, Necas, etc play well. This is a team with quite possibly the best forward and best defenseman in the league, so to hear people say we have no shot in the playoffs and then claim it is fact is frankly ridiculous.

Don't let the negative nancies get you down. Some folks on here just want to bitch and moan and call it being objective/critical. I say let them. It gets pretty obvious when someone is determined to have a bad time here

I'm fine with ignoring individuals. It starts to bother me when the negativity starts to be treated as common knowledge, which people then build arguments upon. It starts with "Mittlestadt sucks" and then moves on to "The Avs MUST make a move", "The Avs don't have a 2C", "CMac should be fired", "We can't make any moves if it prevents us from getting a 2C", "We can't win in the playoffs with Mitts". etc, etc..

The exhausting part is that in order to argue against any of those points, it's necessary to first address the underlying assumption. But since that underlying assumption has essentially become an object of faith after so much repetition, it's difficult to challenge it.

And if it helps, replace Mittlestadt with Toews from earlier in the season and you can see why it's a problem.
