Wonder why he was called up, is Kadri still playing badly?
I can't imagine they bring him up to the Taxi Squad and don't play him.
Don't think he's ready personally but I guess it's fine to let him get his feet wet here down the stretch a little bit.
These games are for the most part meaningless, may as well see if you've got a black ace up your sleeve with Newhook.
Pretty sure the taxi squad practices to stay in game shape, at the very least. That's the whole point of the exercise, isn't it? That they practice with the NHL staff but aren't on the 23 man roster. I imagine they run drills and stuff even when the main roster players are taking a day off.Maybe they'll want him in some film sessions before throwing him out there but practice may not be an option. I don't believe they do many full on practices unless something changed recently. The last time I remember Bednar talking about it I'm pretty sure he said they hadn't practiced in like a month.
Newhook’s hot offensive start has included multiple goals from the end zone faceoff circle. At Boston College, York drew up power-play looks for him from the same area. Newhook has appreciated York’s detailed coaching approach, and he said he’s been working on his technique and using his speed to his advantage.

That’s the one.I'd like to see him on a line with Nuke and Jost I think.
This probably makes more sense than what I suggested. Newhook takes Burns place on that line. I think having Nuke with him helps cover for some defensive issues he might have for a little in the NHL.I'd like to see him on a line with Nuke and Jost I think.
Nope, he'll be wearing i.Does he get a real number in the NHL? There's nothing listed on the website.
I dare him to pick #18Does he get a real number in the NHL? There's nothing listed on the website.
IMO, one of the key points from Baugh's article I posted above:
Hopefully Bednar follows suit and gives Newhook the same opportunity on the PP.
Especially 5-on-3s.Newhook moving around and using his speed on the PP will get him benched. Real NHL PP schemes involve everyone standing still and going for cross ice passes to one time.
