Marino has made a huge difference on Graves’ game the last few. He’s a calming presence.

Being able to roll solid defensive rocks in Marino and Siegenthaler on different pairings is huge. Allows us to match our weaker defensemen against lower opposing lines, and frees up their partners to go on offensive adventures at times.

Chances are he won't have to overplay with Nemec and Dougie are on the right side above him as soon as next year. Graves has had to overplay on the LD because how weak that side has been recently.

Graves looked better than he was early last season because he was paired with Hamilton. When they shuffled the defensive pairings, he didn't look as good.
