I love what he's doing, but still want to pump the brakes. I remember Graves looking great for quite a while too.

I’m going full speed ahead on the hype train because of what he showed as a rookie. He was pretty good the last couple years but he does have some track record showing he can be near elite.

He was very good and allowed them to win a coin flip game versus a top opponent.

Yes. The thing is, had he let in a goal on that big Compher chance after the Tatar turnover, or the Rodrigues breakaway, it wouldn't've been a surprise. But sometimes an average goalie actually saves those sorts of chances and you can pull out a win that should've been an OT game.

What do we attribute THIS to? Haula's part of it but even Nico's going crazy on faceoffs now too.

Chances are he won't have to overplay with Nemec and Dougie are on the right side above him as soon as next year. Graves has had to overplay on the LD because how weak that side has been recently.

No way Nemec is ahead of him as soon as next year if even Sevo isn't ahead of him. He's currently our #2 only ever so slightly behind Dougie at both 5v5 and AS. 10 seconds back at 5v5 and 6 AS. Also Marino's very likely going to be with Luke and that pair is definitely going to be a top 4 pair while Nemec likely ends up on the bottom pair with Smith/Bahl

Eventually we will . And it will probably be a major upgrade when it does happen . Might not be until after this season but it’s coming . Imagine this team with someone like Meier then topped off with Luke Hughes and Nemec …. Are we going to be … date I say … a very good team ?

Nico's been strong at faceoffs for years. 51.7 then a crazy 56.2 and 52.1
