Are you guys seriously placing this loss on Geo ?

Zibanejad has always been a head case. Going back to his early seasons with the Rangers when he'd go one half season cold streaks. He's a guy that goes into slumps he can't come out of. I wouldn't be surprised if that contract is weighing on him too.

literally an inch from a GTG. The Avs must be not very good either then
They lost 4-2 and played an otherwise uninspired game and were very clearly the worse team the whole game. They don't hand out wins for being an "inch" away from anything.

1 win in their last 4 and they have a losing record against teams with winning records.

It sure would be nice to have another center or two in our pipeline.
They’re going to have to swing a trade somehow. With Chytil bringing nothing they need to go bring in another center.

It’s a shame they locked up Mika honestly. I like him the way he usually plays but with him looking like this it’s really not looking encouraging. This team will be nothing with him playing like this.

Rangers played fine aside from that awful start. Avs having the matchup advantage was big. It happens. Opponents are playing us smarter. I think we’ll adjust. Still major Mika concerns. The rest is less worrying.

I've never, ever seen a breakaway from where they were on the boards with that faceoff. Pretty comical.

Disappointing night.

Really disappointing performance from Panarin. Forcing dumb shit all night.

Can’t lose PP differential 6-2 to that team.

Weird that they finally shoot the puck and go to the net and score a goal. Love Gallant sending Goodrow, Gauthier, Hunt out there with an empty net and an o zone faceoff. Can hope there’s a lesson in there for this group on this, but it’s the big guns who need to learn it.

Honestly it is ridiculous the penalty difference is 6-2 in a game like this...

Makar is taking the Norris home this year

Fox is still great. No slight against him. I think Makar takes it though. But a lot of hockey left to be played.

It's not just a showcase of two of the best D-men in the league that he blew chunks in. It's a great offensive team and Fox was MIA defensively, albeit so was everyone, but this guy is supposed to be our rock. He was pathetic in this big spot again. I'm not saying he was "figured out" or whatever when someone said, but when you get f***ed like this by the same team that's this good offensively it makes me question is he's as good defensively as we think. He clearly doesn't measure up against the best. That said he's still the least of our problems, but he did anything but step up.

Zibanejad is this team’s biggest problem by far. We can all argue about another RW and the 6th D but Mika being this useless and actively bad offensively is problem numbers one through fifty wrong with this team.

Plus, because he's signed until the next millennium it's not so easy to just drop the guy in the lineup long term.

I really wonder if we get to the point this season where everyone just bites the bullet and approaches Laf about learning to play center.

I'm not suggesting that should happen but if Zibanejad and Chytil keep going how they've been we are going to be in that kind of desperate position.
