My first block class has a kid who is a diehard Oilers fan. He walks in every single day "Mr. Dahrouge I know you saw that Oilers win last night you closet Oilers fan Avs suck Oilers winning the cup." Literally every single day.

I can't wait for Monday. I might throw something at him honestly.
Wait are you related to a Rick Dahrouge of the band Borialis?

Even strength tonight:

Shot attempts 84-61 Avalanche
Shots 44-32 Avalanche
Scoring chances 46-29 Avalanche
High danger chances 26-13 Avalanche

I said it after last game, this team looks VERY similar to the 2022 Avs again. That is a top-5 analytical team in every major category they just played on the road and they quite clearly controlled the play while on the 3rd game of their Western Canada road trip.
It's a wonder what few players does to depth, and changes the whole team. Now the other teams can't just shut down one line, they have to spread their wealth as well. And that's when MacK and Mikko go to work.

He's so f***ing bad. One mistake per shift almost guaranteed. I don't know why he gets chance after chance. Maybe they are infatuated by his size but man, he is going to cost the Oilers games in the playoffs just like he and Ceci did last year.

With Nurse, Ceci and Desh in their top 4, they might have the collection of the stupidest donkeys to play meaningful minutes in a long time.

Just missing Ed Jovanovski, the dumbest player(officially) to be a first round pick in NHL history.

By the way, how many awesome shifts did our 4th line have tonight?

Oilers had no response for Duhaime-Cogliano-Trenin tonight. Outworked every shift. Endless cycling and wreaking havoc in the offensive zone.

Man Jovo Cop watches those guys with a smile on his face. Idiots out there.

Watching Darnell Nurse in overtime try to create space for himself against noted defensive wizard Nathan MacKinnon and MacK looked completely disinterested, only for Nurse to fire a shot right into MacKinnon's blade and out of play was hilarious. I knew that would happen as soon as he started his stop and go bs.

My dad despised Jovanovski with all of his heart

The ONLY thing that concerns me about Mittelstadt is his foot speed from stop/starts. There were a couple of shifts tonight where Ryan McLeod stop-turned on him and Mittelstadt gave him so much space because he couldn't keep up.

I don't think he's going to ever improve that, but like ROR I don't think he'll have to so long as he perfects his angles, positioning, and keeps using that insane hockey IQ.
Good catch. He does not have an explosive 1st step. But his recovery is quick.... Strong strides. He covers a lot of ice quickly.

Not to mention they only have 2 defensemen that know how to actually play D in Ekholm and Kulak. The rest are just an adventure back there

Me walking out of Roger’s Place:

Awesome road effort! Thought the team played a real solid game.

Standouts for me were Walker (obviously), Toews, and Manson.

Trenin and Duhaime did a nice job leaning on
the Oilers defence as well. Dominating game from the top-line in terms of possession and chances, it just didn’t result in much until the overtime.

Oilers played like it was game seven of the cup final and still got outplayed by the Avs on the road, has to hurt.

Make it six in a row baby!

We lost the most important battle though. Faceoffs were like 60 something percent to 30 something % for the Oilers.

Blow it up

Toews tossed down behind the net with the puck nowhere near him- no call.
That was god-awful and insanely egregious. Refs should be embarrassed - I counted at least FOUR atrocious and really obvious non-calls. Do you jobs, assholes.

Loilers fans think their team got the short-end?? They should be even more embarrassed. That 2nd goal was a GIFT from the reftards.
To be fair you could have called both hooking and holding the stick.
Maybe so BUT you cannot NOT call the initial perry hook - you can call them both if you want but the only reason Manson would have held his stick in the first place is if that dickhead had it in his mid-section to begin with.

No argument from me, but that is a scenario where refs either call both or they call neither and given the "anything goes" prescedent they set, I wasn't surprised.
