I see no sarcasm emoji so will pass this positive, constructive idea directly up the information ladder to the suggestion jar.
Please include your contact info because there may be a prize, and you are very likely to be feeling contact soon.
Yes it was sarcastic like your comment. The coaching isn’t the issue.

Does lack of confidence mean you are afraid to show up to collect your paycheck... ?

When the TD comes and goes, and if Chevy does nothing significant? Then I'll be worried. But I absolutely want him to make something big. Schenn and Chycrun, if not Meier. Swing for the fences.
My issue with that is using assets to grab a bunch of elite complementary pieces to attach to our elite complementary pieces and who are the leaders of this pack? We have a great goalie and no one else that's really consistently more than very good. If we add more very good players can we overwhelm the teams that have 2-3-4 great players? Not sure. I hope we don't trade any picks beyond 2024 whatever we do.

Besides possible lapses in self-health maintenance (diet, sleep etc) does anyone get the feel that a certain lack of conditioning around the room might be playing a role? Your thoughts?
I think it's all mental. These guys are closely monitored and regulated elite athletes

I think inflation is troubling

I wouldn't have an issue either if it wasn't just one or two players who keep being used as the scapegoat. Like you I'd rather he just let the players work it out instead of pulling out the blender at the first time of trouble. Clearly the team is completely low on confidence right now and he needs to try to help them get it back.

If he insists on using demotion as a tool it should be applied evenly or not at all.
At this point, I'm not sure Bones knows what to do - so he starts throwing stuff at the wall to see if any of it sticks.
Demotion isn't going to work with this bunch IMO
There may be bigger issues - that's what I'm worried about - at this point I'm really not that interested in who is getting demoted.
I'm more interested in if this team can get it together in a very short time - and if Chevy is wondering the same as we approach the deadline.
(but I get your point - I just don't think it matters that much right now)

It's not really fair to say "you've never played the game" so you don't understand. You made a perfect illustration of how this aspect of confidence is prevalent in all of our lives.

Another one is going to the bar to pick up women (a game I've never played). A guy who has higher confidence will have more success than maybe a more attractive guy who doesn't.

I just go back to the hockey well because I can remember through my 40 odd years of playing many situations when I have been in the same position and I know what it feels like and how frustrating it is

Yeah, I mean, it's clear we're talking about the same basic concept, and that's cool that you recognize the similarity too. I guess this is why I focus so much on the impact of variance in sports, because that's the thing in my field that's far easier to measure :) and anything you can measure and separate makes it easier to focus on what you can do as a competitor.

The #1 way to tell a good poker player from a bad one? The bad poker player will get absolutely livid if they get unlucky, the good player will laugh it off; and with the scenario reversed, the bad player will shrug off getting outplayed, the good player will beat themselves up for an hour solid after :P

I'm more in for small pot moves myself.

Chevy has been surprisingly good in monster pots :) The man who won us trades for Trouba and Kane and Laine, I trust implicitly when he's chunking it in.
