Yeah but it's too predictable who gets held accountable for poor play and who doesn't at this point. Maybe try demoting Scheifele, Dubois or Conner for a change. It was the Scheifele line that was ass on atleast two of their goals.
I honestly don't think it will make much difference (if any) if the guys you mention are demoted.
If Bones goes down the road of accountability, they'll ride into the offseason and spend the summer complaining about the coaching.
It's a lose lose for the coach - the team needs to step up and self motivate - they need to understand what kind of game they need to play in order to win.

I don't want any of them to be moved to the forth - I want them to step up and get it done on their own
This is the team that was apparently waiting for a wake up call - Bones provided that call and now they don't appear to be interested anymore.
I really couldn't care less who is benched or moved down at this point - it's up to the players to light their own fire.

Edit: Prove me wrong Jets - lets see what you got.

Avs look like a dog chasing a bologna sandwich and the Jets look like they are on round 3 at the buffet. What happened to playing with speed and transition?
i don't think we ever really play a fast transition game. teams like the avs or knights over the years i notice/feel look like they're in a different weight class with how much faster they play vs us.

As we've been over in our many debates, "I've never played the game" so of course I defer to your expertise in that regard; I know that when I struggled with poker play and my confidence is shot, the first thing I do is try and "get back to my ABCs". Study up on some fundamentals, review some common tournament spots, and next time I go play, look for small Ws, yeah? Rebuild that wall.
It's not really fair to say "you've never played the game" so you don't understand. You made a perfect illustration of how this aspect of confidence is prevalent in all of our lives.

Another one is going to the bar to pick up women (a game I've never played). A guy who has higher confidence will have more success than maybe a more attractive guy who doesn't.

I just go back to the hockey well because I can remember through my 40 odd years of playing many situations when I have been in the same position and I know what it feels like and how frustrating it is

It's absolutely Chevy's time to shine right now. He better be back in his office right now with 31 phone lines open.
The thing is, we've seen what the players are capable of, so we know they are playing nowhere close to their potential right now.

Any thoughts on why that is? Conditioning? Psychological issues? These are the same players, so we know they can play.

The boys look like they're skating in cement right now. I'm starting to think a little of both - the guys not looking after themselves properly physically down the stretch (not getting enough rest etc.), and some team fragility going on - you can see some sticks being gripped tight, and players visibly frustrated.

Any good player that comes here will fall into the Jets way of doing things, no fore check, back check, hitting or scoring and hope that Helle stands on his head

I wouldn't have an issue either if it wasn't just one or two players who keep being used as the scapegoat. Like you I'd rather he just let the players work it out instead of pulling out the blender at the first time of trouble. Clearly the team is completely low on confidence right now and he needs to try to help them get it back.

If he insists on using demotion as a tool it should be applied evenly or not at all.

So if the first part of the season was the new coach affect. Can we fire our coach right now and get another and hope for the new coach affect again?
I see no sarcasm emoji so will pass this positive, constructive idea directly up the information ladder to the suggestion jar.
