I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but for me to use four quotes from the same page take a whole lot of arrogance/ignorance on behalf of the poster mentioned. 4 points in 5 games, superior PK abilities do not a 'total no show' make.
"Zero", are you familiar with the meaning of the word? His points and his contributions to his line would suggest otherwise. Not to mention his PK efforts. Perhaps you would be so kind as to help us understand how Matthews is 4th in overall shots (does Marner not historically affect Matty's shot total?) yet is shooting but 4% v his 18.5% during the regular season. Might now Mitch be saying, ' heck dude, where are the goals?" Zach's production numbers are equally suspect, shooting at 6.??? v his 13+% during the regular season. 2 goals from them both to date. Is that Marner's fault?
If I hear a Mitch is useless quote one more time, I'll question whether the poster has any idea of what the word 'useless' means. If one is attempting to use the misquoted Einstein 'the definition of insanity is..." please explore the real view that Albert never uttered those words, as history has oft mistaken. Your personal experience is of no import, unless you can show how it relates to playoff hockey at the NHL level, otherwise it is balderdash. And to suggest 'run his head into the glass' is either a joke, or completely insensitive to what we all witnessed with JT and how horrifying head trauma can be. I look forward to your excuses.
I am not suggesting Mitch has been a superstar, I am suggesting that your use of pronouns makes your case impossible to understand. Pond hockey, really? In what universe? I assume Matthews is the fella you're saying is being double teamed, and yet he's 4th overall in shots on net during these playoffs. Are we supposed to blame Marner for Matthews scoring rate which has fallen from 18. 5% to 4% during these games? Matthews being immune to criticism? Zach's scoring rate have also dropped from 13+% to just above 6%, is this too Marner's fault?
Yes, things happen for a reason in the NHL, and more often than not, it's because things have a likelihood to f*ck up for a few games in this league. The game ain't a constant.
Mitch hasn't been a god, but he hasn't been invisible either. Cut him some slack, or bitch about his line mates as well, because the 3 of them are a unit and succeed as a unit.
