Very little of this is accurate. The top guys were not being outskated anywhere close to what you are suggesting. I feel like you are conflating the special teams play with the rest of the game. Also they were on the ground because they kept falling, that has nothing to do with Tampa
Well I am not gonna buy on speed gun where i sit in row 1 on 2nd deck and I doubt it would work that high up anyways .. but from what I am told Stammer top speed is 38.2km/hr, Point 39.6km/hr and Cirelli 36.9km/hr .. by comparison Leafs Matty at 34.7km/hr, JT 32.2km/hr, Mitch 33.7km/hr and Willy at 39.9 km/hr .. outside of Willy our core 4 are much much slower skaters and when Tampa cranks it up like Tuesday night it is completely obvious watching a game live at Scotia (even NHL tracks it today) .. but this is da kinda data that really matters in todays playoff hockey when guys are moving at top speeds all game long .. and it is exactly why guys like Matty and Mitch have trouble in playoff hockey and rendered road kill .. but guys can continue to drink da skill kool aid all you want .. i hope our skill can beat out Tampa's speed but it is awful tough when thy have no time and space to manifest their skill .. lets hope tonight Tampa does not bring their A game (I doubt they can play as fast as Tuesday night again this series)

I BELIEVEEEEEEEEE

I didn't expect to have to rock out this early today but, I've made up my mind...I ain't wasting no more time, here I go again

He's kind of not that guy. He's kind of like Brett Hull, only way he'll bring is score few goals
He wont' take over a game, he can win you games. But wont' take over a game

Last night Leon D stepped up. Almost took over the game himself first period
Draisaitl is an absolute animal in the playoffs, as good as he is in regular season there's another gear in the post-season.

This shtick is honestly so tiresome. So somebody “told you” the exact top end speeds of like 7 players, across two separate organizations and you what just, memorized them?

Even if I agree their players top end speeds may be higher than the Leafs it doesn’t matter. We both watched the same game and they were not being outclassed in skating - being there in person does nothing to change the quality of that assessment. I will give you that being in person gives you a better picture of how fast the game is moving, but relative speed is equally easy to judge on tv.

They just kept f***ing up with the puck, got some pretty lousy goaltending from samsonov, and had a parade to the penalty box. Basically all the stats agree with this version of events over yours too.

It has nothing to do with drinking koolaid. What you’re saying just is at best dramatically overstated.

Auston doesn't play good in the playoffs cause his "heart isn't in Toronto" being an American boy.

Well Draisaitl is a f***ing German boy living in Edmonton and he has no problem amping it up come postseason time.

Those are nhl.com speeds .. keep sticking to your BS script though .. da truth hurts .. Leafs got completely and badly outskated by Tampa in game 1 . lets hope Tampa slows down in game 2 otherwise this series is over

Lol ok, MY bs script, sure. You literally wrote “but from what I am told Stammer top speed is 38.2km/hr, Point 39.6km/hr and Cirelli 36.9km/hr .. by comparison Leafs Matty at 34.7km/hr, JT 32.2km/hr, Mitch 33.7km/hr and Willy at 39.9 km/hr”

Not sure how one is interpret that any differently than I did. I’d actually be very interested in seeing the speed data of players, so feel free to link the nhl.com data to support your position.

Like I said though, it’s not nearly as important as you are making it out to be. In fact, minus a few puck blunders, at 5 on 5 Toronto was the better team most of the game. The first 10 mins and their special teams really sunk them.

From the sum of our playoffs failures, I am positive only in these:

>That Keefe consistently makes questionable decisions resulting in failure.

>That Reilly has had one good playoffs and isn't a number one defenseman. Without a horse, without a true number one defenseman, or several #2 defencemen, we are in a state of contention desperation.

>We have never had a true number one goalie despite goalies producing number one level results.

>William Nylander should have a letter and should be the bar that every other player signs at or under. We CANNOT resign Matthews or Marner for 14% of the team's budget and ice a competitive team if we sign them to contracts that turn out budget into Japanese ladder puzzles.

Tampa Bay has three players at 11.5%...That's the bar. If moving forward with that type of formula requires further explanation to fans, reporters, agents and other detractors alike, goodnight and pound sand.

The idea of interlocking individual windfall that constrains supplying necessary depth and quality with sacrifice makes me want to vomit even more than that asinine goal song we trot out like we're shooting one long paid advertisement for commercials pushing medication that come with the "considerate" warnings of blindness, paralyzation and death.

Difference of opinion aside, I hope you and your son have a great time at the game and we get a big win

He was +1 in a 7-3 Loss...
He helps the game in terms of defense and he provides a constant goal scoring threat.

Tired of the bullshit, he needs to bring it tonight...no more excuses.

Okay, okay, tired of the passive bullpoop, he needs to bring it Monday ... no more excuses ... take some meaningful shots.

One goal, on a deflection, being shown up by all the goal scorers.

10% shooting, and really, it was a deflection of a marner shot, so he's really at 0% shooting.

Need much more, needs to step up like Kucherov, or Draisaitl, or MacKinnon or .... Lowry.

JT 32.2 and Marner 33.7. If your a smart hockey fan, u know this is b.s. Im not sure if u made that up or someone else but its wrong and that is not info on nhl.com. Willy and Marner have very similar top speeds, Mcdavid was clocked at 40.9 in game. No chance Nylander is 39,9.
