I have absolutely nothing against Juraj personally but the guy skates in wet cement. Mark Stone was a horrible skater but still carved his way into the upper echelon of the league. It's a coin toss at this point imo

Having a down year for sure, but still way too early to make proclamations about him as if he’s a finished product.
I do question the wisdom of that contract though.

That what I think, I also thought the hot girl when I went to Vegas wanted to sleep with me but she was looking for money.
That was a very good draft for the Habs,if played right, they can build a good team.
Juraj skates a lot better than Stone. You think Brady's skating is any better?
It took Stone 5 years after his draft to really establish himself in the NHL. In his 3rd year, he was still an AHL player, playing at roughly the same pace Juraj is playing in the NHL. Obviously not all players have the same trajectory, but I don't think it's a good comparable.

His best game since last season. Absolutely dominated.
I don't think he'll ever be a superstar. It was a weak draft and probably the only superstar to come out of it will be Lane Hutson. But he has the potential to be a strong skilled forward. That's a dimension that teams salivate over.
He got 50 points last year and will likely get 50 this season. Not bad. A disappointment for not taking the next step but that's not uncommon for younger players. I think that contract will be money well spent when it's all over.
I think the best player from the draft will be Lane Hutson. Then it's Cooley, Wright, Salfkovsky who will be the next three in whatever order. I think it's just too soon to know how good any of these guys will be. The only true blue superstar that I see from that draft is Hutson. Others may emerge as superstars as it's very early. Cooley looks like he has a lot of potential. We'll see.

There will also likely be guys from later rounds who emerge in a few years to become stars, it happens in basically every draft. I agree with your assessment though. Slafkovsky will be a highly sought after type of player. Maybe not a superstar, maybe not even a star , but at the end of the day he will be a player 32 teams want, and will hate to match up against, especially in a series.
If the habs get a 70 pt player who his hard to contain physically that is still a great pick given how the draft was. While Cooley may be better and Wright is also breaking out, neither of those guys have put much distance from each other since draft day. It was close then and it's still close 3 almost 3 years later. You can't fault the habs for taking slafkovsky. Who knows , he could still make major leaps and end up the best of them all, it's still too early to know anything
