four goals against per game. worst of any TB opponent. worst of any team in the playoffs I think.

And note that you still can't name half their team.

LOL. How many PP goals did Tampa score ?? Knight, Bob, Ekblad, Rienhart, Barkov, Bennett, Duclair, Huberdeau, Marchment (remember him??), Jumbo (lol), Vetrano, Verhaege, Montour, Weegar, Lomberg who was the biggest prick on the ice. Happy ??

Out of curiosity, did you actually watch any of that series ??

more PP goals than they scored against any other team, that's for sure.

good job naming half their team. and look at those names!

Florida put on a fine battle against Tampa. Garbage officiating in game 6 ruined what would have been an epic game 7 between the Florida teams.

Atleast they lost to the cup winners rather than a gimmicky cinderella SCF finalists.

This is the difference between someone who watched the series and someone who read the stats.

That Panthers team left it all on the ice. Penalties and the Bennett suspension killed them. Meanwhile the Leafs up 3-1 are no shows for close out games 5,6 and 7. They have coach Q and we have Keefe. Seriously which team would you be more bullish on ??

there's a stat that actually shows what you saw when you watched.

but most people here really don't like that stat.

I'm more bullish on the Leafs personally but no way would I trash Florida prematurely. Florida's had good pieces around for years but just never managed to put it together, seems like last year they finally figured it out in a very difficult division.

Is that the stat you used to determine the Leafs would sweep their way to the semi's?

Past performances, over seven games are meaningless for next regular season results. We could do the same thing, look back over prior years, and it's meaningless for the next year.

We are arguing over minutia, when there are four teams that can battle for the top four, depending on injury luck, goalie voodoo play, and a bunch of other things. In the end, the regular season is nothing more than a qualifier to the time that counts.

The Leafs have proven to be a good regular season team that last few seasons, and there isn't much to change that. They have the 5th most regular season points, over the past five seasons, and the core is basically the same. If we want to look at the playoffs, and say, they aren't a good playoff team, and that status quo remains, until proven otherwise, sure.

Dallas went from losing the SCF in six, to missing out on the playoffs completely. This stuff is meaningless.

Florida have coach Q while we have Keefe but I digress.

I hope you are right but I am curious as to what makes you more bullish about this Leaf team ??

Florida is super over rated by playing in a shit division. Tampa got much weaker, and Boston is aging

You normally bad mouth the Leafs and their lack of playoff success, but you seem to be making excuses for Florida here which I find ironic since they are the only team that may have less recent success than us.

You saw the Leafs against 30 teams the year before while missing a lot of key players (Marner, Matthews, Tavares, Rielly, Muzzin, etc...) and they were on a 105pt pace that year, I'd say that is a good indicator they will do well.

No they weren't, it was a 95 point pace

* under Keefe. Was implied, should have clarified, Keefe saved the season.

Dumping Babcock gave them a 20 (or so) game bump under Keefe and then they went right back to playing at the pace they played under Babcock.

When they started getting injured.

They were at a 105pt pace under Keefe that season... you can use whatever split of games you want to try to justify why they weren't, but they were.
