This pick is about BPA and value IMO. At 56, getting a borderline top 20 player of all time seems like the right pick to make, at a crucial position, espeically with the offensive lineups sure to be constructed. I figured he'd go around 50 and put him in the green if he made it past that point.

He doesn't need much introduction. The Three Rivers HC are excited to add another money player on the defensive side of the puck.

Jacques Plante, G

Was trying to trade up for him. Insane value.

The Hull Olympiques are please to select, from Paris, Ontario, one of Conn Smythe’s loyalest player, a courageous man who served oversea during WWII and one of Canada’s finest pole vaulter of his time, Syl Apps.

Good pick Claude. Syl Apps has a Béliveau-esque vibe to him, he should fit well with Geoffrion on his wing.

One of the most hurt by the war.

I've long felt he doesn't typically get mentioned in the company he should because of that fact. Not so much among the present company, but certainly in the wider hockey world.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF...

I don't want to do it. But he is staring me in the face.

10+ all-start berths, 5+ hart trophy top-5 finishes, a Conn Smythe for a sorry-ass losing team,
killer GAA stats, mentions as arguably one of the THE best ever before Roy & Hasek tore it up...

I gotta go Glenn Hall well outside the top 50?

Stop that.

Psst. Am at work. Don't narc on me. Have 5 minutes...

Is Morenz's wingman gone? The guy he said was the brains of the operation, the playmaker to his rushes?
If not...

Aurele Joliat is an Admiral.

Obvious pick for you. Joliat-Morenz seems to be reunited quite often in recent drafts.

The GOAT to anyone that actually saw him play... Terry Sawchuk

I have been reading up a lot on the contemporary coverage of the original six Wings, and it's exceedingly clear how it goes Howe, then Sawchuk, and then everyone else (and this is accounting for the fact that the Detroit media will not give Kelly the same due as the other greats).

I hate picking goalies early, but I was very pleased I got to pick him in something like the OPPF draft where the question of "value" is a bit different.

Three Rivers will continue down the BPA track and select a C who's likely better than a number of the recent selections at that position.

He'll bring tremendous offense for a 2nd line anchor, and given the running theme of our conference specifically, won't get pushed around by anyone. He should also feature as an elite net front presence on the PP, with Ovechkin and Potvin already secured on that unit as well.

TRHC is pleased to welcome:

Newsy Lalonde, C

Nice pick up IE. Doing like us and playing on hard mode I see.

Bathgate was a really good pick (decent chance I would have picked him with my upcoming pick), but bolded is a bit much.

Howe and Jagr are 1-2 pretty easily.

After that, you've got Richard-Cook-Conacher-Bathgate-Makarov-Lafleur all piled in close together. Which of that group really stands out in regular season offensive production? The one thing that stands out to me is that Bathgate had the least help and the most competition for the leader board.

Which of those guys is definitively better than Bathgate in regular season offense?
