Tougher/more physical than Murphy, and a good skater during his prime, but slowed down later by knee injuries. Also one of the best stickhandlers in the world at his peak. Boucher is much more like an early Brad Park than he is like Larry Murphy.

Agree. He was more dominant in his era than Murphy was, and it's only the relative competition levels in their eras that makes them close on an all-time level.

I'll message Leaf around 3-4 Pm EST if you still haven't picked but you still got plenty of time to get your picks in I say to ck26.

Mark Recchi: Yeah I pretty much wanted him. Reading up on him he seems to be more than just a playmaker, very good pick for a team that already boasts Lindsay and Cowley as forwards.

Peter Stastny: Solid pick as well. might have went with him if he where still there at 143.

Marian Hossa: Well gang I finally got my 1st line right winger and I think he was worth the wait. Again he might not have been the best available one but for my team and its needs the fit is there.

Brendan Shanahan: Good pick, had him in 2014 I believe, good power forward who had some good longevity.

John Leclair: Going into the draft and looking at plans I had it my mind to go a certain way and that way would have resulted in me getting John Leclair. That ended when I got Kharlamov, still a solid pick. He can work either with Mikita or Bossy or with Bentley.

Georges Boucher: A good pick as well, I see the comparisons to Larry Murphy and I can buy those. Boucher adds to a good back end so far for Bench brawl that includes Doug Harvey and Shea Weber.

Paul Kariya: Good pick, shame what injuries did to his career though, for a while he was one of the top 3-5 players in the game. ? is is he a hall of famer? I think he just might be.

Carl Brewer: Good pick as well, seems like he could be a perfect partner for Paul coffey.

Anyway those are my thoughts on the recent picks. Again ck26 you have a few hrs. yet on your clock so no need to let Leaf Lander know yet that he's up. I can message him at 3 or 4 PM EST if you haven't picked by that time.

The similarity in playing style between Boucher and Park is, incidentally, an argument in favor of the Nighbor/Park duo. In many ways, the interaction between Nighbor and the defensemen was more important than the interaction between Nighbor and the forwards.

My head says "take a goalie," but my heart says "forget all that, we scorin' baby!"

From Victoriaville, Quebec ... Gilbert Perreault

Was 1 of 3 names I was looking at for my pick. I'll let Leaf know now that he's up via Facebook.

As a matter of administration, I just want to announce that Dwight has agreed to be my co-GM for the remainder of this draft. :)

Anyone can leave lists to me, I don't plan on trading up and will be there for a good while.

The Pittsburgh Bankers select D Babe Siebert
He played more than half of his career as a LW, so he should have LW listed as well as D.

On the famous 'S line', he twice won the Stanley Cup as a LWer.

Then he struggled to score as a Ranger, so when Shore was suspended for the hit on Bailey, Siebert went to the blueline in Boston (the Bruins coach's idea). Then when Shore came back from suspension, he and Siebert didn't get along, so Siebert ended up in Montreal and the Habs loved him and he had 3 great years there, then retired to coach the Habs.

He played under 6 full seasons as a D in a 14-year career.

The Montreal Canadiens select another strong two-way center, a guy who was unstoppable like a train once he started accelerating and a damn good playoff performer, Mike Modano, C.

Mike Modano said:
I knew going into the game that when [the Detroit Red Wings"] Sergei Fedorov or [the St. Louis Blues'] Brett Hull or [the Vancouver Canucks'] Pavel Bure or other players like that were going out on the ice, my line was going out there too

"He's one of the best two-way players in the world," says xxx. "He's a threat from anywhere on the ice."

I think people focus on the flash of Mike Modano, but he's a real gritty performer

Brett Hull said:
"Mo's got the most skill of [any U.S. forward]," says former linemate Brett Hull, a 741-goal scorer who played for Team USA but was born and mostly raised in Canada. "It's to his credit that he's been able to do what he's done, given that 90 percent of his career has been in a s--- system--all defensive-minded coaches. Can you imagine if he had been drafted by Detroit or Pittsburgh? You can't guess at the ridiculous numbers he would've put up."

What he's able to do with the puck at a high speed might be the most amazing part of Mike's game

I think he's one of the best all-around players in the world," . "And you hear that more and more from people inside the game
