The same way Laine was bombarded with Selanne questions last year, it will be hard for Vesalainen to avoid the laine related questions and comparisons. :(

But it's something completely different if media compares you to an Hall of Famer that has stopped playing some time ago compared to a soon to be teammate who is only 2 years older than you.

I don't find neither of those comparisons fair. But we are going to hear those questions asked time and time again. Basically in every interview for few months now that Vesalainen is Winnipeg Jet. Like last year with laine. And I'd guess both players are/were hoping that the reporters would find something else to ask reasonably soon. :D

And it is actually 1 year older ;)

There are different groups.

Hannu Rautala has coached in Turku and now his son continues that tradition. Laine, Ristolainen, Rantanen& Koivule train together in Turku.

I believe Vesalainen said he has a personal coach waiting for him and wants to add size/explosiveness. I'd love to see him to go Turku someday.

Vaakanainen is the same as Vesalainen and has said to have a personal trainer and has gone some ideas through with Saipa.

IE: Do the Finns have their own highly overrated guy who also sells some pseudo science. :P

Hahaha, im sure players could gonto any number of guys to get similiar results. At the end all that matters to me is that the players feel they are getting the most out of their training, which is why i have no issue with Scheifele shelling out his own cash for Oates if he feels it makes a positive difference in his game.

The best part of Roberts camp probably has nothing to do with Roberts and rather that most of the best train there, so you have some stiff competition.

 Tons of pseudoscience to be had in the training industry.

Tell me about it. There is some improvement happening, but it is slow.

There's a lot of people/companies making big names for themselves with evidence backed training.

A good, and fairly cheap, ebook if anyone is interested:

The focus is on power lifting but their is information in their applicable to most strength training.

At the end of the day Hannu Rautula has a huge rep but the pier group element (like Roberts academy) drives real value. It's always good to be around the best of the best and have guys push each other. Laine may be a more gifted player than most of his Fin piers but they are much further along physically so that has to provide a nice motivation.

What a horrible name. It's like 'No-1-Growth' or something; you throw money at them for a year, and when you complain about having had absolutely no results, they laugh at you ****tily and say that it's mentioned in the name since the day one and you have no grounds to sue or anything.

And there you're are, a Jugger-not, and thousands of bucks lighter at that.

Oops... Typo. Definitely Juggernaut, not Juggernaught.

Dammit. I was kind of hoping that they had gone for Juggernaut/Dreadnought portmanteau, and screwed up gloriously. :D

And also Donskoi, Rinne, Kemppainen, Salomäki etc gather to Kempele/Oulu, Finland to train together

But a placebo vs really good, evidence back training with proper adherence to SRA curves and understanding of Maximum Recoverable Volume, is still lost ground.

Sure, but think how much more motivated you'd be if you thought that you had a diet that was designed for your genetic profile....😉

Oilers fan coming in peace.

I think you got very nice add to your winger depth.
After one year in Europe and maybe one year AHL and he is ready to rock NHL.
Great tools and highly motivated guy.
He reminds me of Sundin when he uses his body to shield the puck.

This guy seems like a stud, he could easily end up the best Winger of the class, not that it's to strong anyways... if he paired with Laine that would be poisonous to stop(A strong puck carrier who creates so many chance but never had the linemates that could "Finish" pairs with one of the best Finishers in the league:laugh: ). Then think about Ehlers and Connor on the same line possible with Roslovic(I gaurantee there would be no line faster than it) and then let the Sharp Vets dominate... If we developed before Wheeler and Perrault hit they're major decline we might have the best team in the league(without even mentioning how good are defence looks on paper, ofcoarse Enstrom would have to break his slump), how ever that is very optimistically thinking...

Perrault Little Wheeler
Laine Scheifele Vesalainen
Connor Roslovic Ehlers

Don't think we could afford a top 9 like that
By the time ves is ready MP will probably have to be moved unless MPs contract is up by then

I think we will also have to trade Wheeler by the time Ves is ready too
Unless that's a year were pushing for the cup

I'm glad the Vaseline nickname isn't catching on. Heard someone say it 5 or so times in person yesterday and it made me cringe.

They are not all going to be making top dollar at the same time. Vesalainen likely plays a couple years in Finland and then comes to the NHL. 5 years from now Vesalaine is still on his ELC. Wheeler is 36 y/o by then. Roslovic and Connor haven't come close to earning big ticket contracts yet.
