Prospect Info: At 16th Overall the Rangers Select Brennan Othmann

Petes acquired Sahil Panwar from the Firebirds over the summer, and they also have the younger brother of Othmann's girlfriend on their team so there are some familiar faces.

Also, don't forget Thea Petes were in regular contact with EHC Olten when McTavish was playing with them in Switzerland together with Othmann
What was he suspended for?

Saw “trade” and “Othmann” in the thread title, and my eyes jumped out of their sockets.

Yeah with the team's lack of depth right now we really can't afford to move guys who could be contributors on their ELC's.

Really only should be moving mid round picks for Motte type guys.

The Petes' projected top-line:

LW: Brennan Othmann (24 points in 16 games)
C: Connor Lockhart (24 points in 18 games)
RW: Tucker Robertson (23 points in 18 games)

All three rank top-10 in points in the OHL.
Never ever is Lockhart gonna Center the Petes topline as long as Tucker Robertson is still with the Petes and in the lineup. He's their star player and nr.1 Center. Lockhart is currently on his right wing but is essentially no more than a passenger of Robertson. Not a bad player but all Petes forward would look decent playing with Robertson. The best thing about the Othmann trade is that he'll finally get to play with a proper top center.

Any idea what his issue was with the coaching staff? That’s not usually the type of thing you want to hear. He also got the C and had a ton of success in Flint. I’m really hoping he gets some games in at Hartford on an ATO later in the season.
I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the coaching staff. It was just pointless for Othmann to play OHL with Flint and I think that's where the frustration came from. They weren't gonna chase any titles this year and that's the only thing for him to play for this season. There's nothing he could possibly learn in the OHL. He can only lose, having outplayed the OHL last season with almost zero support. As a winger, being on your own is even tougher than as a Center. This season at least he got to play with Flints best players like Lombardi. That wasn't the case for large parts of last season.

Yes, I saw that after the first game.

Didn't see much of Peterborough this season so I wasn't sure who was playing where.

I'm glad the organization is taking it's time with Othman but man he's exactly the kind of player this bottom 6 would really benefit from. Speed, energy, some toughness-- clearly good.

Bottom 6, if he could play right wing. I might want him playing with Mika and Ck.

I think its really good for Othmann to get traded. He kinda did everything but win a championship at the Junior level and he was a tweener in the NHL. So while it made sense for him to go back, the next step was improving on an already excellent junior career and winning a championship.

Now he has a new challenge after a 1/4 of the way into the season, trying to improve a decent team in the Petes into a real contender. He will have an effect, no doubt. This is a good challenge for him at this stage of his career. Wish him luck. And who knows, we might see him up with the big club come spring time.

Also has the WJC to look forward to again next month with a bigger role.

Mostly happy to get away from the coaching staff.

The story behind it is pretty cool though.

Also, Othmann now has more goals for the Peterborough Petes than Wayne Gretzky.
dude we get it you have an uber special relationship with a prospect…care to expand or are you just going to cryptically post and hint at info you have without sharing? So odd
