Excellent possession numbers on a dogshit team. When you consider he's an RFA at the end of the year and the fact the second round pick won't be making his NHL debut for at least five years if all goes perfectly, I don't think the price is as bad as it first seemed.

The Avs have traded from a position of defensive prospect strength this season (Timmins, Helleson, Barron) and the actual NHL d-corps. remains stacked. And the Avs got a guy that can play like Nuke for more than one go at the cup.

I really can't complain.
TImmins+1st+Helleson+2nd+Barron+2nd for Kuemper+ Manson+Lehkonen. Steep price but they return were all needs.

Lehkonen really is a smaller Nuke. They guy was a buzzsaw in the run last season. The Avs roster got better after today. I still would have loved a 3C (Andrew Copp :( ) but looks like they are going to let Newhook take that role for the time being. Hopefully for all our sakes he flourishes in that spot.

Honestly, not a fan, but I understand options were limited and I'm happy Sakic finally paid the price to make the team better at the deadline. Was pretty high on Barron, I think in a few years he ends up being one of the steals of that draft because of his injury issues.

How the hell are people complaining? That was the price to pay! Joe is too conservative, and then Joe paid too much. Please. And this isn't even an overpay, he's RFA and one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL, with some offense and playoffs experience.
