I've said it before but Lehkonen was always misused in Montreal and we are seeing that now. He had to generate all his chances himself, and he did, but struggled to finish off plays. Always had better drive and determination than anybody else on the Habs - now he has talented line-mates for the first time in his NHL career and the results, to me, are not surprising!

Glad Lehkonen is getting his chance. Met him a few times, great kid, and I'm looking forward to seeing him hoist the cup tonight!

I usually am really skeptical towards people who wishes that an ex-player of ours do great elsewhere. Because I think that usually it's a way to try to cope with the loss of the player.

Well in THAT case...I really REALLY hope he wins. Lehky has always been a great player in his own role. Has always been playing for the logo on his chest. And often underappreciated. And now, he'll raise the Cup. I really can't wait. Good on you Lehky. You deserve it.

Call me crazy but I wouldn't want to be the team that gives Lehkonen 4+M with term regardless of how well he is playing.

There is NO team that Bergevin build that would have made Lehky look like the Lehky we see now. None. This is the Avs we are talking about. That's why I keep saying that we didn't get the best out of most players 'cause we never were able to build a real team.

Not into calling anybody's name...lol, but I would give him 4M. With absolutely no hesitation whatsoever.

Am happy for Lehks.

In terms of usage, I think Therrien, Julien and Ducharme were quite content him being a defensive player. As with others, looks like MSL drew out his offensive ability as he put up good production under MSL , and that continues with the AVs.

Hopefully our inside joke about Montreal being the place where offense comes to die is a thing of the past.

I personally don't see these "many Lehks" in our organization.

And hope is for the weak.
oh come on - I liked Lehks too, but let's be realistic here. He's a hard working winger who can slot in middle 6, and maybe top 6 in emergencies. His value is exactly what we got = late 2nd and Barron. and "if" none of our current prospects in AHL/minors grow into this then we have way more issues to deal with.

Have you seen his stats? Since traded?

If none of our non top prospects (Heineman, Mysak, Smilaric, Pehling, Ylonen, ...) develop as a Lehkonen then i *** agree with you there 100%, trading Lehkonen will the the last of our concern and we will have much much bigger problems.

I like Lehkonen and he's having a great playoffs run but it's no different than Lars Eller's playoffs runs. Lehkonen remains a good middle 6 winger who plays very well defensively. A great piece to have when you have MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Kadri, MaCar, as well as many good depth players like Nuke, Burakovski, Toews as well as a great young player like Byram.

But in our position we got to find our own car and go buy a big mac before and the best way to do so is getting lot of picks and prospects. Still a good trade and will remain a good trade no matter what will happen. Now it's up to the scouts, head scouts and KH to do their job and find the gems in the draft. Cause our drafting records since 2007 is not great at all. We got to have more 2007 and less 2012.

LOL ! Bednar is an idiot then to put Lehky on his first two lines.... Come on ! Every one in Colorado is super happy to have this guy on their team. I will trust them 100% more than you.
dude... I like Lehks, always have.. but Im not going to cry about trading him to better pastures. what were we going to do, keep the guy for another 3 years "until" we are ready to compete? he's a known commodity and a perfect fit for the Avs. when the time comes, we will send a 2nd and a B prospect for an equally perfect fit for our roster.. it's not rocket science.

absolutely ^

im not putting Lehks down at all. dude is a great guy and great player. but he is a supporting cast player with one of the best assembled teams ever. I would argue a solid 3C Eller is a far more difficult position to fill than a 2nd/3rd line winger if you are needing a final piece for a Cup run.
