It’s flat out embarrassing the performance he gave.

In honor of Red Holzman's wins as head coach, the Knicks retired the number 613.

In honor of the percent of our salary cap space Panarin occupies, the Rangers should retire 14.1.

The Gallant Effect

Cut it out. There are people here who will latch onto any scapegoat possible and will buy what you’re selling. This started with Bread in his second season here, before Gallant was hired.

Edit: I’m not defending Gallant, but Gallant and Panarin are TWO issues, one is not the cause of the other. In fact, in the highly unlikely event that there is any relationship between the two, Panarin being an uncoachable narcissist likely to lead a mutiny and encourage bad habits among his peers is more likely than Gallant somehow neutering Panarin. He gave him literally full autonomy to do his thing.

When you go through this thread, it starts with ups and downs before it becomes a consistent problem, but the first time people start pointing out that his game isn’t the same as year one is February 2021.

Sharks couldn't move Karlsson during an unprecedented season, how the f*** should this dude get moved?

Did Karlsson waive his NMC? First and foremost the player has to do that. I could see another team going for EK ez, can still skate and the talent is no question, not Bread though.

I hate these NMC contracts so much. In a cap league ... and we handed them out like candy.

He was open leave for sure. Don't think Edmonton would be that invested unless he was willing to move up north.

He is an east west type of player and that type of play just doesn't hold up in the POs. He can't adjust his game because he doesn't have the tools to do anything else. His wheels are not made to compensate for the pressure being applied and his shot is meh. Salary too high to move so we are stuck with meh.

Not going to be easy to move Artemi with that contract. Somehow I think he's still with us next year. I wouldn't be trading any more high draft picks again to bring in players with the idea of getting a better playoff performance out of him. That clearly didn't work. Take space away from him and he's too soft on the puck throwing passes around without looking where they're going and that's a recipe for disaster.

From my perspective Kane was also too soft on the puck....he just wasn't as bad. I liked Tarasenko but there's no way I think we can afford him.

Please run the tape back to summer 19 when I said “don’t sign this guy”

I was right again. Rangers never winning in the playoffs with this 11 million dollar zero on their squad.

Eat 50% of his contract if you have to but get rid of him.

He wont change his game or go the extra mile to win in the playoffs. He's your typical skilled lacksidasical European player like a Kovalev. Either his dipsydoodle BS works and it's great or it doesn't and it's awful. At this point in his career with his declining skillset and questioned commitment, it's more of the latter.

He can't cost 11M on your cap, he's gotta go.

Other skilled European players like him adjust and play the winning style like Kucherov and Rantanen, they are two nasty f***ers in the playoffs and go to the hard areas, Panarin just can't and won't. It's futile to even suggest to try and force him to do it.

Thank you for some good years and memories, notably 19-20 and Game 7 against Shitsberg but it's time to exhaust every option in moving on from him.
