Panarin has not been great this year, but he's still a gamebreaker. Notice how he lifts Weegar's stick not once but twice while possessing the puck. The first lift to keep Weegar from trying to knock the puck away and the second lift to open the passing lane to Zibanejad. No one else on this team could make that play.

Im glad Weegar was victimized after he "won" the fight against Cuylle, who was being put in a headlock by Lucic at the time.

I’ve been vocal about my concerns, but still love what he can bring (when he actually brings it). Bread finding a way to mesh w/ Zib and giving this team 3 very dangerous lines would go a long way in making this team a contender.

Tomas Sandström: 326
Andy Bathgate: 338
Mika Zibanejad: 344

Rod Gilbert: 371
Petr Nedvěd: 387
Adam Graves: 388
Jean Ratelle: 411
Camille Henry: 413
Vic Hadfield: 548
One of the most under appreciated players in the league by their fanbase

Was watching some playoff highlights from last year, Pitt series.

The pace of play was insane. Panarin was flying.

Then I remembered he was hurt for pretty much the entire dance and not completely himself.

I think we will get vintage Bread when it really counts. Kinda think hes storing it up for the run.
He better be because otherwise we are proper F Ucked

I think Panarin needs to break his bad habits that he developed with Strome. Not from year 1 but from year 2 and 3.

Year 1 they moved and worked as a unit. Post-Covid, he just gets the puck on the half wall and waits for something to happen. He's become 'lazy' because of it

I HOPE THIS CHANGES WITH ZIBS. He talked about it in VZ's recent articlce... paraphrasing, 'Strome just gave Panarin the puck' 'we need to learn how to help/support eachother when the other has the puck'

He's been forced the puck for 3 years now to be the 'QB' He needs to be 2019 Panarin...

Hmmmmm. Surprised to see no updates to this thread following Wed nite’s stink-on-ice performance from Arty.

Coincidental that the only other player who makes me think of “Quiet Quitting a la NHL” is Patrick Kane ?

I feel like he just doesn’t fit what the team does. He still gets his points because he’s a talented player, but he just doesn’t seem to have chemistry with anyone, and I don’t know how you solve that.

Panarin-Zibanejad-Vesey should remain a line. Vesey is doing yeoman's work on Line 1 we havent seen since Fast, and Mika is better than Strome in every facet. Bread is frustrated by his lack of goalscoring, you can see it in his face and the extended shifts he takes. Hit a post last night, 0 for 10 now on breakaways. He's snakebit but I think he's getting there.

If Tank gets Bread going, I’d advocate dealing Goodrow, even for a late pick, and resigning Tank at a discount. He’s no longer a 7.5MM AAV + NTC player anymore; more like 3.5x2.

But maybe that still doesn’t allow us to resign the youngsters, in which case … bye Tank.

He hasn't skated the same since the Wilson incident and his "knee" injury that kept him out for the rest of the year. That combined with the slander campaign by Putin's goons and we've only had flashes (skating/effort wise) of Panarin from year 1. On one hand you can say he's lost a step as he's gotten older than you see him skate in OT or randomly during a game and you guy huh...

Now nagging injury, lost a step, laziness/bad habits I think the perception of number 3 is why he is in the dog house at times with this fan base. When the inches matter come playoff time, that 10% backhand sauce pass over 4 sticks becomes .01% success chance.

It’s pretty representative of his entire rangers career except for the last 25 games or so

And almost all of last year.

He was successful yesterday partially due to some luck (which he was and still is owed) and because he was doing things that he just hasn't done enough this year.

He shot the puck, went to the middle of the ice and actually finished a breakaway (now 1 for 11 on the season, he wasn't going to go 0-for-2022-23.)

He had 5 SOG last night which is usually a sign that he's doing good things. He's had 4+ or more 14 times this year and in those games, he has 23 points (135 pace over 82!) Does that mean hes going to pace that if he takes all those shots over a full season? No, but if hes shooting that usually means that hes getting in pretty good scoring areas because he isn't a guy who spams low percentage shots (passes are a different story.)

There were way too many rangers fans writing him off bc of a bad stretch. This 1 game doesn’t prove anything, but the last 200 or so since he’s been on the rangers should.

This is why I can't understand this fanbase. This guy has been the team leader in points since he arrived and has made the team just insanely better, but gets walked on because he had a bad stretch. Yet, guys like Laf who had a mediocre last season with had more penalty minutes than points, and a horrid first half of this season, get a pass because of COVID and his age?? GTFO. And there were plenty of people in the thread calling for a trade. All because of what? He has giveaways that rarely end up goals against?? Because he isn't trending to put up 100 points every season?

Give me a break. The top 3 in points on this team in order are:

Panarin: 59
Zib: 55
Fox: 50

The top in the team in giveaways in order are:

Panarin: 59
Fox: 47
Zib: 44

There are so many kneejerk reactions among the fanbase concerning our top producers and even our coach who is rolling with the best team W/L percentage since the early 2000's, and it feels like these reactions are a microcosm of the laughable takes you constantly see on the mains.
